So what are guys doing this fall? Had my last lacrosse camp and now it's time for field hockey....school workouts start the Aug. 8....I can't believe the summer is almost over...no more lax in ohio...tho they may have fall leagues for the first time...but a lot girls here play soccer and field hockey...so hopefully they will work around school schedules....otherwise we have to wait until Nov. for a turkey shoot and then winter indoor league...bummer...

hmm well usually augest-november is touch and go with lacrosse. I will be on tennis but that really doesn't matter seeing as how I do it for the social experience and really not for the tennis. However I will be going to a few tourny's and probably some pick up games. Once november starts, I have this indoor camp that is every tuesday and thursday from like 3:30 to 5:30 and sunday night games starting. Should be a fun time, then all that until March, in which case real season practice begins :( All the while i will be handling some major AP classes and enjoying my junior year and the occaisonal work out :)

i've been playing non-stop since march...i am having a hard time transitioning to field hockey...and i think i am going to go thru withdrawal...too bad they don't have a lacrosse academy like they do for tennis...play/learn lacrosse all year and go to school at the same time...btw lilaxgurl is an awesome goalie...she had the psu coaches talking at camp...

haha thanks Gabby, I totally missed you at lunch all the time. It would be like me and Al sitting by ourselves and you had like 50 people around you lol. Good times though, we'll deffinitely have to catch up some more during the off seasons..... Hey, you didn't do so bad miss Sponge lol (mine was dirty, was yours?)

Hmm. I'm skipping soccer. I know, senior year, but I need to focus on school to get into some of the colleges looking at me. D3 kicks my ***. Why oh why can't they just treat me like a dumb jock? Sigh.

Anyway, so I'll be working out on my own (I hope). My fall is really busy with traditions, school, college stuff. I might do yoga or horseback riding, something like that. Plus workouts in my own time. Yeaaaaaaa. Senior year here I come!

I was gonna sign up with CCLax to do fall tourneys but it's not worth it at this point.

Doing just about all the big fall recruiting tournaments-just in case type deal I guess, some of the colleges I've talked to have had coaching turnovers and are actually doing more recruiting this fall...

Then there's field hockey which sucks.

ah! i miss playing sooo badly!! i didnt do travel this summer b/c i'm a freaking moron and im hvaing major withdrawel to the point of like tears! lol. okay, maybe not so funny, but whatev. i quit soccer cause i hate it and i hate my team, and i dont do basketball anymore...so i'll be doing NOTHING for 2 straight seasons until lax. i wish there was a fall team where we just had straight pick up games, but everyone else is either doing soccer or field hockey. i'd do field hockey too, but it's too late fo rme now, i'm a junior.

hey molax, what part of MD are u from? i'm on the eastern shore.

Theres no club teams around here, so have to wait until Novembers fall ball season to play blah. In the mean time im running cross country yay NOT, but only to stay in lacrosse shape. Then lacrosse tryouts start January through May, yess, can't wait until that. Meanwhile IB will be fun. anyone else here in an IB program?

hahaha Good luck with IB, it's hard work. I was going to do it, then I decided to go the AP way. My sister was doing it too, then she also decided to go the AP way, but she is also taking IB english. I'm pretty much taking all the courses with IB, but I get a little more leeway with my class choices and I don't have to do CAS. Man, so much work in that program. But all the seniors that took it all got their diplomas so props to them.

Prety much http://www.ibo.org/ibo/index.cfm?page=/ibo/programmes/prg_dip&language=EN Kind of hard to explain, but imagine a program you followed for 2 years wit hall AP caliber classes with community service requirements and a 4,000 word essay due at the end. Very rigorous program.

It's similar to AP, but technically one step harder, therefore its weighted a point higher than AP. Most high schools that have it have a pre-IB program for 9th and 10th grades and it starts in 11th. It's really not that bad though

lilaxgurl23

Yeah, see in my school everything is unweighted, so there are no extra points for AP and IB. But a lot of the AP classes are combined with the IB classes, the only difference in the end exam. I think IB as someone told me is more of a program that teaches how to work your way through things to find the info where as Ap is all about the info. That's how I was told, either way, I much more of the science person and IB doesn't allow me to take the classes I want.

Oh well thats cool. We don't have the IB program at my school. It goes: regular classes...CM classes...honors classes...AP classes. But there's only some classes that are AP (and all classes can be honors). like, you can only take english 4 as an AP. there is no english 1, 2, or 3 AP class. That and we have duel enrollment, where we take college classes at a nearby college. do ya'll have that?

Soccer season starts the 15th with try-outs. I quit playing it in the offseason so I'm kinda rusty. But I'm not worried cause I've started on Varsity since I was a freshman. Then there's lax fall ball and club tournaments with winter lax too. Umm, oh yea, on top of that I do plyometric sessions and lift while somehow managing the typically hard junior year and finding a little time for a social life. Sounds fun, I know.
