one of the things that was wrong with my team last year was our lack of team chemistry and i was just wondering what you guys thought i should do to help build that up.

most everyone on our team are friends off the field, i think it helps us on the field to, our coach says that even if you hate some one on the team off the field, that they need to be your best friend on the field, something like that

The more team trips the better. Our team has always gotten a long because we play a lot of out of state schools and go on a spring break trip.

long trips help so much. but really if you guys practice a lot like we did then it shouldn't be too much of problem. i know off the field i dont like some of my teammates that much but going through all the same crap through practice together builds a bond through lacrosse. as gay as that may sound it's true

Remind your teammates that the Bellaire program has been around the Houston area for awhile and has a rich tradition of past greatness. It may have wanned a little these past few years but with a little pride and alot of work ya'll can get those days back.

ya, i think the hanging out as a team practicing in the offseason would do alot, but see like w/ my team my friend & i live like 45 minutes away & we're the main leaders, but we cant do that stuff with them cause of the distance...then to make matters worse the other guy on the team they look up to has a horrible attitude, always back talkin the coach & tellin people off about how much they suck & it's their fault if we lose, so for my team we just kinda have to bare it & if we start off winning a game everyones together & there's a great team feeling, but if we start off losing by even 2 points then the whole team falls apart(i might go w/ that keg idea)

just remind them that they cant do it all by themselvs and they need their teemates to help them

we have the same problem. are team is two schools wich are rivals in everything besides lacrosse (williamston/haslett) the funny part is that their isnt a division between the kids from different schools the haslett kids fight eachother

My teammates where a little shy at first, but then we all got talking and we worked and played together fine.

chemistry all depends on the coach, if your practices split up all the d man middies and attackmen, then your middies and attack wont have chemistry, the d and the goalie wont have chemistry, but if he mixes it all up, the team will be more familiar w/ eachothers skills and weaknesses. However i come from a school of 18 boys (AOS, even though it was such a small number we still got 3rd in city), so we were all really tight to begin with, but at bellaire i guess being so big, would be tough, also, when your team starts winning games the chemistry will get alot better.

Yes but i would start getting to know everyone before you play any games so you feel more comfortable with them and thier skills. But the keg idea i had was a great thing after that party we had alot more fun playing and practicing and we all got closer make sure you dont do this before a saturday practice or a game.

Go out party together, eat together, pick up chicks together. Seriously that off the field stuff really works. But you guys are hopeless, bellairelax! Hahaha no seriously, it is a good idea!

r team was there when lacrosse we were all aloud to play in 4th but everybody is friends with every1 on the field nd off the field there are some fights because our goalie is hot head but we all get along when it matters like games. SO what i m trying to say is just make friends with everybody on your team and step up as a captin if anyone is fighting with each other on the team

alright i dont know if anyone else has my problem...little team chemistry, & you are a leader but you live away form your team(my whole team is within 20 mins of each other cept my friend & i who are like an hour away)...well if your a leader its your obligation to do it no matter what excuses(mine distance), so for myself i heard about these thigns every friday night that they call fight night, kind of self explainatory(sp?), but other then that its just a huge party...sicne distance is an issue ima make it a weekly thing to stay up there after friday night practices & get the whole team to come to this party, & go w/ the whole keg idea....hope it works like yall said

I'm pretty sure it's frowned on to encourage underage drinking on TLF. Really, drinking at all in anything more than tiny quantities is a bad idea, especially for athletes.

i totally agree with anyone whos said party with the team. our team found out that we all love to party, and now we do it together like once or twice a week, and we always go to someones camp or beachouse and crack open a few and chill on the beach. and i believe due to all of this, its helped our team build alot more chemistry than alot of other teams.

Bellairelax, we already did that, but it is a good idea!

Just get together. You really have to bond on and off the field, all the varsity should know the JV and vice versa. Just get games goin on the weekends, and get team trips, those help. Also, try to be friends with ALL the players. At my old school, we all ate together and we did everything together. We hung out at school and we organized games on weekends, and school breaks.

If the whole team goes through something off the field that really sucks, it helps alot.
We all got trapped in a bus on the side of some godforsaken east texas road because it was raining too hard and the road was flooded. We were sitting in that bus for 4 hours straight.
