View Full Version : What does it mean to 'pinch' the head of your stick?

As far as i know, this just means to string the head the way you want to keep it, then boil it or bake it for a certain amount of time then let it cool so that you can unstring it and it will stay the way you had it.
Whats the point of doing this?

noo. you dont boil the head strung. and the point is that some people like their heads pinched. pinched head=more ball control.

to make the head narrower. A "pinched" head, or a narrower head, gives much better ball control and hold to your stick, while sacrificing face area for catching. More experienced players who are comfortable with catching passes will usually want a narrower head for better ball control and sometimes crisper passes. If you have a wide head, or you think it is too wide for you, you can simply pinch it to make it narrower, rather then buying a completely new head with your desired pinch.

if u pinch your head make sure its still legal

Yeah, try to put a pencil in between the head of your stick, measuring 6.5 inches at least (usually more).
