I am using brine maximus gloves, and was at a store today and tried the STX I-2's... and damn the mesh for the hand on the top of your palm helps with grip so much...

this is what i was thinking...

the inside of the maximus is basically all mesh on the inside then leather where it holds the stick... could i cut the top of the palm out and just leave the mesh there? is that even possible .. don't know how tightly woven together the leather and the mesh are..

It is against NFHS and NCAA rules to alter your gloves in any way, especially when it is to increase performance.

However, if you're from Canada, I'm not exactly sure of the rules there.

edit: and the mesh is usualyl pretty tightly woven to the leather, anyways. If you want some mesh on your palm, then get a pair of ignitors. They run fairly cheap nowadays. Or even the STX Exo/Fusion gloves have a lot of mesh on them.

I'm from canada, and i'm everything, a player , a ref, and a goalie, and cutting the gloves is illegal but no one really cares, the rule is that if a player or coach asks for an equipment check the ref will just ask you to change gloves, but everyone cuts them so its not a big deal

some leagues might not be so "lax" about it

im in the NCLL it doesnt matter what you do with your gloves, pinch, pocket depth etc. back to the original post, thats really confusing the way you are explaining it

Go ahead, you might take a chance at ruining, or altering the gloves to the worse. Just buy some new gloves if you dislike the feel and grip of your current ones. I would advise agianst cutting out one piece for extra grip. If you want to cut out all of the palm, thats a different story.

I agree with Gift_from ^
you risk a good chance of ruining them by doing what you are thinking...
If you really like that mesh feel, maybe you could cut out the whole palm and take then resew in some mesh in the palm? I dont know...I never alter my gloves
