No, why would you want your strings to look crappy?

Our old buddy hbmedic/SSU91 does. It's apparently "The style" in the "hotbeds of lacrosse" (aka Maryland). You're not a true hotbed player if you believe in burned, clean cut strings.

i like to burn mine to prevent fraying but i hav a stick with a couple of frayed strings but i'm afraid it'd unravel so i just burnt it instead

I burn mine and try to create a little point at the end for easier use. Sometimes after I cut them I just let them burn for a while so it becomes a little ball on the end.

Sidewalls get extremely annoying when they're frayed and you want to adjust your pocket.
Shooters, on the other hand, I love frayed.

i always cut all of my strings and burn them, but i have ran into people who do like they're shooters frayed and puffy and all over the place, i myself just prefer a clean cut stick

no because if i ever wanted to re-do it and the frayed material always collects dirt, dust, and grass
