I actually found the torpedo to be easier. The pocket itself took me like 30 min to string as compared to the pita I recently did that took more like 45-50. I would start with a regular traditional though.

vipers new torpedo tutorial is sweet, but i always opt for a sweet mesh pocket like in ornages tutorials, if youre up for it you could do a turtle shell?

Try a stylin strings pocket like a trax or concept pocket.

I would go for the torpedo or a pita...
Both pockets are great and will look pretty sick if you string them right..
Pita-A lot of the pita's that pop up look awesome and a lot of people say they are one of the most functional custom pockets...If you can string regular traditional you can string this...The only difference is the track in the middle.
Torpedo-Vipors torpedo was sick and looked awesome...This takes traditional stringing a little bit further, if you learn this pocket, later on you can progress to things like the rock-it pocket...because this pocket uses the same knots...
If you're not interested in those check out something like the snatch n grab in the tutorials list, or just try a Big Word or turtle shell...
If you dont want to do that then check around different sites that sell custom pockets, some old sites for lacrosse stick tech and just put a couple of pockets together...There are countless things you could try like the "3" leather pocket, different tracks for the ball, mesh/trad hybrids, all nylon pockets...just try some stuff out...

if youre gonna do the snatch and grab string it TIGHT! i say try the torpedo or unconventional pocket by fattie. all fatties pockets are awesome so go check em out.

the bottom looks a little sloppy and the top seems to be stretched. in reference to the two middle leathers, being pulled apart. also a few of your daimonds lok uneven. if its your first traditional style its pretty good.

but if it throws well for you then leave it the way it is.

I really really hate to bring back an old thread but do you think a homegrown is a good idea for your first custom?

Homegrown's are easy, but if you really want to start off with something easy, follow Kryptics tutorial for a Pita Pocket. Nothing could be easier.
