Are they gothic? They dress like it and my friend said they were. They are a great band though.

mehhh .... They dont sound gothic at all but i have never seen them before.They are an ok band
uh no not at all, they are very good. The new CD Crimson is awesome.
I don't think is this gothic.

They are pretttty far from gothic. Black hair and a black shirt doesn't make you "gothic".

When it comes to Christians, yes it does. There was a thing going around in the news where this Christian Church sent out a list of "If your child does this, they are gothic and need to be enlightened to God."

Not entirely true. I go to a very conservative baptist church and my best friend (who also goes there) wants to dye her hair black, but she's in no way a goth. She's prolly one of the nicest people I know.

Just because people are goths doesn't make them mean people. I'm not a goth but I know a lot of them and most that I know are really nice.

I don't get how people can think you're gothic if you wear black.

I'm not a big fan of heavy metal, but I do like Alkaline Trio. Alkaline Trio, Metallica, and Brand New are pretty good in my opinon, and I listen mostly to classic rock, Jack Johnson-inspired stuff, and those kind of guideline music.
Alkaline Trio and Brand New are not heavy metal. Heavy Metal is TRIVIUM.
Brand New "Your Favorite Weapon" is (pop/punk/rock) and their new album "Deja Entendu" is Indie. I don't know where you guys are getting this stuff, sometimes I think you name bands cause you think they "sound cool"

Heavy metal gets the wrong definition. Heavy metal is that '80's Hair band crap. Metal these days is simply donned METAL.. not heavy metal.
And Metallica.. is not "heavy metal" even though they came out in the 80's. They actually didnt suck.. *coughtwistedsistermotleycruecough*
You categorize music by both instrumental style and lyrical themes. Like metalcore is about politics and personal struggle, and the instrumentals are fast paced and there are often breakdowns in songs, screamo/emo is about being dumped and crying in the corner writing poetry sawing at your wrist with a butterknife, and so on.
And Alkaline Trio is kinda like punk.

Yeah alkaline trio arn't goths and they don't play goth music. Get - all on black, Mr Chainsaw, goodbye forever and nose over tail they are all really good songs.
