ya, if you want to work on checks(& ive posted this in many diff. spots), weigh down a crappy d pole with sand, pebbles or pennies......then just practice your checks for like 10-15 straight minutes no stopping....the defensive wrap around check(like when they have the stick in 1 hand), it helps that A LOT!!!!poke checks, ect.....fra as stick skills id suggest just working with your off hand, maybe learning some new cradling methods & watch the pro games for ideas

some good ideas for improving stick checks:
move lateral and pratice poke checking..then on the way back pratice a slap, poke combination.
get to a tree and go over different senarios in your mind when an attackmen is takin you down either side and pratice timming the check with his arm movement and his cradle..as you do that pratice the wrap check and poke on the tree and remmember to see the attackman cradaling his stick and time it with the check on the tree..
when praticing stick skills:
the best way is to hit the wall but when you can't then try this...go to wear you have about 10 feet of open grass..roll a ball out infront of you and pick it up as fast and accurate as you can and it will help you with gbs..as for other advice keep the stick in your hands all the time.. personally i play in college and the summer is my time away from the field but i still seem to play games 5 nights a week.. just play as much as you can and try to play with compition better than you.
hope this helps

whats the power training handle do??ive never seen that/heard of it before....another thing though is if you have someone to play with....i go & play w/ friends a lot, & since it's not a real game obviously i can get fancy, puhs htem in to the position you want them to be in then practice the "really sweet" checks(i dont know what to call them to be honest.lol)anyway this past week new jersey & philly were playing, i dont even remember which team did it, i just remember the positions/check....
the mid is at top left from the goal, & he is doing a 2 handed right hand cradle, & the defender has his stick righty....granit a longs tick shouldn't have been this close anyway i dont remember why he was but he was pushing on the mid with his bare arm, & the mid pushing w/ his back.....anyway mid is still doing the righty cradle, the defender slides his hand up a bit, lets off pressure so the mid comes towards him, then comes over his head w/ the back end of his stick to "try" strip the ball, great idea juut didnt work..so it's like an over the head kayak.....ive done kayaks & ive done over the head checks but never put them together like that, so it's like a new over the head check for me, & now when im practicing with my buddies i try it out, so hopefully when ive got it down i can use it in regular games

The power master is a solid weighted shaft by warrior. The idea is that you go around and practice with it, like wall ball, practicing checks, shooting, gbs, everything, and because the shaft is so heavy, it's strengthening your forearms and such as you go about your activities, so when you pick up your normal stick for the season, it'll feel much lighter and you'll be more powerful.
That said...the power master is a waste of money. If you want weight, fill your shaft with sand, coins, or concrete.
