i think he'll probobly stay...i wouldn't mind him getting traded, but the eagles have said he will either play on the eagles or sit for the eagles, no other options. ps. i liked the little public workout that was quite interesting.

hey everyone
i dont post much but being from philly and a huge eagles fan that i am i just need to say something about this, sorry if it kinda seems like im ranting.
but in my opinion i dont think he had a chance of getting a new contract and i could see him going but not in a good way. andy reid has always picked Aminus Bminus players that A+ personalities and work ethics and when he went for terrell he went againest that, he may have gotten an A+ player but apparently they said he has a D- personality which seems to be true. I dunno you gys may totally disagree with me here but i think owens needs to get his head outta his *** cuz he should be playing football to play football i no i would give anything to play lax professionaly if there was a team no matter what the money situation is. Hes a millionaire does he really need that much more money, i mean he has it better of that alot more people in this world. and i know this is a touchy subject to so people so im sorry if i offend you but there are men and women fighting for our country so that we can enjoy these freedoms and be able to play football and lax and do anything we want, and i no fromppl i no that they dont get that much money but they do it cuz they love our country not because of the money. I mean i he said hes doin whats best for his family but really does his family need any more giant houses and nice cars and money, not really if anything if i was him and i had that much money i wouldnt keep it, give it people who really need it so they can survive. But the main point of this rally is hes supposed to be playing football because he loves the sport, he should wanna play ever if he doesnt wanna talk to the ppl on his team (hell have to tho), and mostly b/c playing it makes him happy, not because of the money. In my opionion if he is more concernd about the money than his love of the game does he really deserve to play?

wow sorry that was so long

i dont know if theres a single team that really wants TO. I dont see his logic on needing to get a new contract. By his logic, if he were to have a bad year he would need to take a pay cut. So what he really should have done is signed an incentive based contract. I hate T.O.

i think he'll stay, for this season atleast. I really don't think Andy reid is going to give in, and no other team wants his attitude. I just remember when he said that he didn't hafta talk to people, he was being paid to play ball. But then you see him working out and shooting baskets outside of his house. There's new news almost everyday about him, so i might have missed something in my last statement.

I think he deserves the money, but the way he's acting makes it so that I don't want him to get it. It reminds me of a little kid crying for candy, they might have worked hard all day to earn it, but who wants to give in to that crap?

I have been so entertained by all of this. The workout in front of his house was priceless, but it was no where near as entertaining as the interview he gave during the halftime of last Thursday’s game. I’ve been snapping at my boss every time she says hello to me. “What’s your point?! I know how to do my job. You don’t have to antagonize me! Don’t speak to me unless I speak to you first.” (lucky for me she has a good sense of humor) What makes it even better is McNabb has been such a bigger guy through all of this.
I think Owens is smart enough to know that he has made his point and is going to settle down now that the Eagles started going through the motions to get back part of his signing bonus or just “Keyshawn Johnson” him for the season. Owens makes the Eagles an amazing team, but that’s because they are already a really good team without him. I would love to see him play, but only if he can help us win. If he can’t/won’t, we’re still the best team in the NFC East, and probably the NFC.

I read an article this week which I can’t find now, but it was really funny. This is what the Eagles sideline will be like this year…

T.O. to Brad Childress (who is patiently waiting for T.O. to speak to him first) “Tell McNabb I was open.”
Childress to McNabb “T.O. was open.”
McNabb to T.O. “Shut up.”
T.O. to Brad Childress “Tell him my last name isn’t McNabb.”

T.O. is going to shut up and play for the Eagles, or he is not going to play football this year and the Eagles will trade him to the worst team in the league for a bag of old footballs in the off-season. (Not Wilson game balls either, the hard plastic Voit ones.)

Yeah, I despised him from the day they signed him. I think the eagles aren't gonna do anything but suspend him until he gets his act together. According to what I heard, if they suspend him, he will not play, and will not get paid, but he is still their property so he can't sign with another team. Boy is he stupid

I'd take Randy Moss over TO any day of the week, at least u can take Moss seriously.. Even when TO tries to say something serious he still has that HUGE smile on his face, he love the fact that he can cause that much comotion, he's constantly smiling...............uuhhhh I jsut wanna smack dude so bad. But at least he doesn't wear T-shirts with pictures of him and his mom on them......oh wait a minute

I hate Terrell Owens. I loathe the man. I don't like Donovan McNabb either though so. Who knows what will happen. I don't think Andy Reid will give in and sign a new contract, but the Eagles cannot win without TO, especially now that Pinkston is out for the season. The other Eagles receivers have a total of something like 80 catches between all 5 or 6 of them. Personally, I hope he just gets suspended and doesn't play. Makes it easier for the Rams to do what they've got to do.

I think he needs a new agent.

He did get a new one. My friend's neighbor used to be his old agnet. My friend's mom also nearly won the job to decorate his home in Atlanta a couple of years ago.

I'm really getting sick of Terrel's, and Drew's antics. If Owen's was represented by a different agent, this doesn't happen. Rosenhaus is like that little devil on your shoulder in cartoons, the one that deffies reason and what not. This is a make or break scenario for the NFL, Rosenhaus, and the Eagles. If TO gets his contract, all hell is going to break loose. Everyone is going to be holding out, and signing with Rosenhaus.

After the SuperBowl TO was probably the most popular player in the NFL. It really did take guts to go out there against the Patriots, on a broken leg, and still do what he did. Unfortuantley, all of that popularity has diminished with antics.

T.O. is amazing give him a new contract hes not paid enough. eagles cant make it to the superbowl without him they need him that much. Eagles has some kind of stupid policy of leaving people behind or something if they have a problem well i guess thats why they havent won a superbowl in a long time.

dnab is an *** clown and a hypocrite he had his best season last year because of t.o. just look at the stats and where most of his passes went to and for you idiots saying t.o. missed most of the season and that he didnt take them to the superbowl 4 weeks is not the whole season and yes he took them to the superbowl and for someone who wasnt in full health on one leg he freakin owned.

and for the fans of philly that hate him go kill yourself they wouldnt be as good and T.O. took your team to the superbowl

yeah he can be a jerk but hes the best there is next to randy moss and he deserves to be paid more and he has all his skills to back himself up

oh and t.o.'s agent owns drew rosenhaus is the best in the buisness

T.O. will have his best season of his entire career this year, and it will be his last in Philly. Y'all know I'm from Philly, and I'm a huge Eagles fan, so you can imagine how obsessed I am wtih all this. The only way the Eagles could get T.O. to behave is if they make that "concession"- they will get rid of T.O. after the season is over. Now, this couldn't have worked out better for the Birds... TO is an a-hole, no doubt, but by being stubborn they've convinced him that the better he plays, the better chance he has to get out of here. Basically, he's performing out of spite... and the only way he can perform is if he shuts his mouth, so the Eagles have got him performing his best and not causing disturbances any longer during the season. The Eagles never planned on keeping him for the duration of his contract. Lurie and Banner are the kings of unloading players when they've peaked and are going downhill. TO will start going downhill soon, if not next year then the year after. So, now, they're gonna get an insane year out of TO b/c it's becoming a contract year for him, and they can trade him for his worth after the season's over. You know osmeone will take him. Al Davis is one who might do all he can to get TO (imagine Moss, and TO on the same team).

So, I think the Eagles have handled the situation perfectly. TO's ticket out of here is playing well, not being an a-hole, so to get his much desired big contract (as if 9 mil this year isn't enough), he has to be the best WR in the league. It all works out great for the Birds.

Personally, I cant stand T.O. and i wish that he would shut up and play or get the hell out of Philly so we wouldn't have to hear about his antics. He is a great individual player, but he is hurting the team right now and i dont think he really cares too much as long as he gets more money (as if he isnt already rich enough). To whoever said imagine Moss and T.O. on the same team, I think that would be a disaster. You cant really expect two guys with such big egos to play with each other, can you? And what's funny about all of this is that a great reciever, Marvin Harrison, doesnt pull bs like this. You never hear the guy complain. He had 86 catches for over 1100 yds last year! The guy is amazing and a real team player, it is just too bad that these other recievers cant act the same way.

No he's not. For one thing, they could not afford him. For another, they need to worry about getting a quarterback not another receiver. Derrick Mason is a good enough #1 receiver. Plus, no one wants T.O cause he has such a bad attitude.

Boldin was sick, he hasnt shown me anything in over a year, except for getting injured twice. Fitzgerald isn't so fast, but he can jump so high that any toss up in the end zone he has. Did you see Antrel Rolle's plays against Dallas? He will be great.

This is an interesting perspective, and could be true, but I wonder whether the opposite is really true. I think T.O. has the Eagles in a tight spot, and I think he knows it. He knows that they have no other proven receivers, and McNabb knows he needs T.O., hence the soft-pedaling words and actions by him and Reid.

T.O. knows enough about how to sabotage a team without looking like the saboteur. He can run up his stats to look good while still dropping the crucial pass over the middle, the potential game-winner, or the play that pushes the Eagles over the edge in the playoffs. Just look at the quotes in this thread - everyone focuses on yards and TD's. Owens can get 10-12 TD's and 1000 receiving yards and still drop the crucial passes that matter most to McNabb and the Eagles. He did it to Jeff Garcia in SF and trashed him publicly, and still was highly coveted by outside teams. Hell, Randy Moss left the field and went into the locker room before a game was over and still got a nice deal in Oakland. Bottom line is that T.O. can play well enough to get out of Philly with a nice contract, but still sabotage the season. The real question is, at 31, can he afford to, and does this mean a ring isn't that important to him?

I think the reason you're seeing the Eagles document everything now is so if they start to see decreased effort out there, they can Keyshawn him and kill his market value. But it's a two-sided affair - both have leverage here.

Whats your job? Do you do it for the love it, or because of the money? I hardly doubt that anyone with a summer job does it because they just love working at Dominos etc. I dont see much difference between T.O. and any average american that hates his/her job.

I hardly think he doesn't care about football. He just has a big ego and a bigger mouth. The other difference is that you play football because you know you'll probably do something else for a career, and if you get injured, well at least you have something to fall back on. He plays it because it IS his career, and I doubt he's qualified to do much else. And since his career will only last 10-12 years if he's extremely lucky (most NFL careers are only 3-4 years) he needs to make that money NOW. When your livelihood is on the line, I'm sure your perspective will change.

T.o is a ****in rat, when you sign a contract you dont negotiate untill its over. ****in asswipe 1st year in his 7 year contract *****ing.

Who says you don't negotiate till it's over? The teams do it all the time. They ask players to restructure their contracts to fit other players under the salary cap every year. Why shouldn't a player try to renegotiate? I'm no fan of T.O. or his big mouth, but I can't fault him for trying.

True. And there's also a job working the third shift at a garage door factory in Ohio, like former first round pick Curtis Enis of the Bears/Browns.
