im kinda lost about why yall don't seem to have high opinions on the STX surge.
I have been using mine for about 6 months now and have only had one minor problem. Of course yall know what that is right? O had to super glue a corner that was peeling off. But when I was doing that my boyfriend ran a string of glue across all the edges to keep it from peeling up again. That was about 4 months ago and havn't had a single problem with it since then!
the head is not the lightest on the market, but when teamed with the afterburner it fits smack in the middle of the field in the weight devision.
I have used several heads in the past from either brine or STX along with a wooden or aluminum shaft until 6 months ago when I got the new shaft for my surge, and I have found that these are superb goods.

The reason most of us do not have high opinions of the Surge by STX is because of the reason you yourself experienced. Many people have had a lot more of the polymer (silver stuff) peel off than you so your lucky. Some the whole strips.

I personally think the polymer stuff is BS. The one redeeming quality it the pocket-one of the best off-the-line I've EVER played with.

Another reason we dont like it is because of it's price. No piece of plastic that will be subjected to the rigors of lacrosse should cost (an average) of $90. That is just plain RE-DIC-U-LOUS (yes I know I spelled that wrong).

Soooo...there is your awnser. Anyone have any other comments? OH! I also LOVE the way it turns out when dyed.

what makes the pocket so special off the line?

i'm under the impression that all trad string jobs are genericlly the same (at least 8 diamond jobs anyways)

(back from a personal vacation, and feeling fine..anyone miss me?)

yeah I understand what yall are talking about. I know several people who have either surges or the male counter-part the fuse. But since my coach suggested that we run a little bit of super-glue along the edges of the polymer, we havn't experienced a peeling surge since. I'm not to sure about the guys fuse, half the team is to stuck-up to take advice from us girls so just continue glueing it back, but from the ones who have tried it, it seems results are pretty good.
yes it is expensive, but after having several low-quality heads in the past, i managed to save my money for a good one. It has been over half a year and I am still over-joyed with my decision. The feel, as well as shot-speed are worth it.
