if you know wut ur hs team needs as a position then i'd say do the one they need...but otherwise go w/ wut u thnk is more fun...if u want to try sumthin new then do attack but if u feel really comfortable playing d then continue w/ that

while you are probably good at d since you have been playing d for six years and you say you have good stick skills I would try middie

If you don't have any speed, it will be tough to play Attack unless you can feed like no other. Good defense will be able to slide on you no problem unless you can create at least some space from your defender. But if you want to play attack or middie, just get out an run and work on speed drills. It sucks but it is something that you can work on, you just need to decide that it is something you want to do.

I have played D ever since I realized I was too fat and slow for Middie. it was horrible I used to try and hit people and I would only look like a jackass because I was too slow and I would miss by a foot or so. anyway, I had the stick skills to be a middie but not the speed. the following year I went to D and found my calling as the go to guy as far as passing and catching were concerned. my speed and agility came when I was a couple of years older. I have to say that just because you have good stick skills doesn't mean you have to be attack or middie. I believe that D-men need to have great stick skills no matter what. sooner or later the goalie needs a go to guy to clear the ball down the field. He can't gillman the ball every time and the middies aren't always going to be open. A D-man will always be open and if the goalie can rely on you then he will pass it to you.

if you can't run.. you'll still need the defensive skills for the riding game.... try attack.. give it a go..
