How often do you all run a week? Its pretty cold out right now so I'm taking it easy and riding an exercise bike for like 20 minutes at a pretty good pace every night. I'll probably start running at the end of this month like 2 miles a day or more.

I can't remember when the last day it was that I haven't run. Football practice goes year round here. I started swimming on the weekends also. I think it might help my shot.

I love running. After the gym I usually run about 3 miles. On Sundays I run about six.

i don't really measure distance, i try to run for 45min to an hour 4-5 days/week. I know that I consistently do about 7 1/2 - 8 min miles so whatever that turns out to be.

I got a pretty sad story here... This guy at VaTech who was on the crew team was runnin like 5 miles a few mornings ago and when he got done he just collapsed and died a few hours later... they say he went into cardiac arrest and he was only a freshman here.

This only happened like 3 days ago and people here are still in shock...

that kid needed to get out more...but i think hes pretty much stuck inside now.

that is really sad on two levels
1) Someone died
2) from running

he needed to go run around, work his cariac muscles...but now hes stuck inside...inside a coffin.

very mean and wrong comment that i regret making now, but at the time of writing i was kinda taken back by how weak this guys heart must have been. my sincere apologies.

yea i was kind of surprised you said that...

but the guy was pretty much in shape

the crew team here wakes up at 5:00 in the morning to start their practice... I'm blaming the whole thing on stress cause as a college kid you cant sleep at 12:00, wake up at 5:00 to row a boat, then take a 5 mile run at 8:00.

yeah, i really want to delete my post now cus i cant believe i said it. but i guess i cant hide all my mistakes...but really im sorry about that, dont know what was running through my head(you know im sorry right?)

yeah, college takes a beating i hear, but when you got to do that also...i couldnt expect much else. stress is a killer, stress causes heart attacks, hernias, hemorraging and the like..stress is not a good thing, not a good thing at all!

my coach runs us at practice 5 days a week--- 6 laps around the track, and they have to be under 75 seconds, with a 30 second rest inbetween. Then we'd run sprints on the field. But as much as it sucks, I have to give my props to coach, I went from running a 440 in 90seconds and a mile in 8minutes at the beginning of the season to a 440 in 75seconds and a mile in 6 min 30 seconds, now some kids on my team are running 5 minute miles. We outrun all the teams we play which is why we smoke all of them. (#1)

I was doing some serious weight training during hockey season cuz I was big but real weak for my size and increased wut i can bench by like 30 pounds. I thought when lax season came id be real ready cuz i skate like crazy at practice but i got on the treadmill and was not impressed. So now I run a mile on monday and friday and bike about 9 miles on wednesday. and i try and do some good lifting on tues thurs and satrday but im not so concerned with that right now.
