This came up on another forum i go to and was wondering what your thoughts were. (topic searched)
Anyone else have to wear them? Mine is prety lack. Dockers and a button down shirt and tie. No restrictions on patterns or such. Shoes are more strict. Basically what you would wear in a big corprate office, with cubicles and such
We dont have them, but has anyone seen that video where the kid without a uni pulls out like 16 guns. Someone should find that. Its crazy.

I have to wear Either navy or khacky pants with a blue, yellow, white, or pink button shirt with a tie. The shoes have to be like dress up solid color shoes and have to have a closed heal. So no burkenstocks wich is pretty gay.
edit: Wearing uniforms is actually pretty nice because you dont have to pick out something to wear every day. Its not that bad.

I used to go to private school but then I switched and thank god I did. Its soo much better. Alot more freedom, anyway all the boys wore the same grey pants, white shirt, patterend tie and the girls wore a checked skirt and white shirt.

I went to private high school from a public middle school. At first I didn't like having to wear a uniform, but looking back, I enjoyed the change. You know what you're going to wear in the morning, don't have distractions about what other kids are wearing, etc. No one knows if you're the kid with a $15 white button up shirt or the tool who's parents went out and spent $100 on it. Overall, it made it a more positive environment, but a lot of that was also due to it being a private school where the kids are there to learn rather than my old public school where the teachers couldn't get rid of kids and were little better than older, higher paid babysitters.

Im in the same situation as TheKOB was, except they dont give u options you can buy any kind of dress pants/slacks and any kind of a button up dress shirt with a collar. But, its those rich preps that wear all polo and all the other expensive brands. Im straight up dockers, croft and barrow and van huessen (sp?)

As a teacher, and as a former student, I have never agreed with uniforms. But I do at least understand their use.
But I say that teachers should have the option of not using any "dress code", and should have the liberty to show up in a pair of jeans and a "rage against the machine" T-shirt. I can handle a classroom with that...who needs khakis and a polo shirt?

Hey, a question for you private school kids, would they let you wear pants like ****ies that are kind of dressy looking, or do they have to be dress pants specifically?
Edit: I tried to say Dic kies but it blocked out, you get the idea.

i hate unis for school. i went to a super small school on the side of a mountian in NH, we did all of the maintenance, cooking and cleaning. and we got this pin head headmaster that decided that living on the side of a mountain (doing all of the cooking and cleaning) wasnt enough, but that we had to do it in a jacket and tie.
i see KOB's point and if i was going to day school at home, id be less inclined to argue the point, but at my boarding school it was REALLY inappropriate

I used to go to private school. We wore yellow polos with the school initials on them, (tucked in) a pair of blue shorts/pants, brown/black belt, all black shoes, and socks that were 1.5 inches. All the clothes came from the same uniform store, so there wasn't any variation. I didn't like the uniform when I was there; but now pretty much all I wear is polos and shorts anyways, so it doesn't seem like that big of a deal anymore.

i used to go to a school called ST. patricks, and we had to wear this super gay vest on tuesdays and thursdays for morning mass. anyway, the other days i would wear a white or green dress shirt, and either some billabong kacki's, or some d*ckies. WHen ever i got caught wearing dif. pants i always got detention... so lame

Hooly I have had a couple of teachers...begin the "revolution" one wore jeans and a DMB T-shirt to english, and my geometry teacher rocked a Pearl Jam Bi-aural concert T-shirt during finals. Most awsome thing in the world to see a teacher with Edde Veder on the front of their shirt. lol

You are a lucky, lucky man.
We have to wear blue, white or yellow polos with our school name on them (not any blue white or yellow polo, all from the same company) and flynns for pants (khakis). Also, as of this year we have to have our hair above the collar and bottom part of the ear, and above the eyes. This sucks.

Yeah I have one.
Most Aussie schools do.
The private and scholarship schools have blazers/leather shoes/tucked shirts, etc.
Public schools like mine are more lax, black pants/shorts, and the schools white polo, and a jumper. Seniors have a rugby style top.
Girls were black trousers, skintight black pants or short school skirts.
I think they are a good thing, but i wouldn't want to wear a private school one.

I just finished highschool and to be honest we did not have a school uniform, nor did we have a dress code persay. But really I think it wouldnt be that bad to wear a uniform, just becuase you kno everyone else in the school has too as well. Since i went to a public highschool, some days i wish everyone had to wear a uniform. For example, i dress the more skater/prep style therefore i have no problme with a uniform but then theres always the goth/hard rockers or the wanksta/wigger/druggies/whatever else u want to call them who sit in teh front of the school and smoke, and everyone taht drives or walks by gets the idea that that school is a bad school, just because you dont see those types of characters at the other 2 public highschools in my area. This inturn makes the kids coming into highschool want to go to other schools if they are more like me, who is usually discraced by the way our school looks sometimes, (as you can tell i acutally had school spirit). And then this leaves teh school with out as many kids as the other 2 schools and it makes everyoen think that everyone in the schools like that. Any ways i turned this post into a bit of a rant but i had to let it out. I dont even know why i bothered because im done with that school now, except for that im gonna come back to help coach the hockey team.

if you go to school over here you have a uniform. ive had a uniform for the past 11 years..and have another 2 years ahead of me. the common uniform is suit trousers, shirt and tie and formal shoes. and you can either wear a vneck jumper or blazer. next year isnt so bad because i can choose different syles / colours. but man i hate uniforms.

i go to public school we have no uniforms but we do have a dress code... i hate uniforms it reminds me of an army of uptight puppets, wheres the freedom shouldnt we get the freedom to dress the way we want as well as free speech i mean thats like a form of dictatorship... on another note the dress code dosnt bother me its mainly for "gangsters" who sagg there pants and were bandannas, oh and all the girls hate the dress code and are against uniforms mainly because there skirts have to be lower than there fingers and there cant be any skin around the waist

The guy that started Wesley must have made the uniforms as a running joke or something, they are horrible.
I have to wear a Blazer, White Shirt, Tie, Pants, Black Shoes
It would suck to get school uniforms. I remember how mad I was when my school got a dress code. Not so much because I was restricted (I wasn't), but because girls were no longer allowed to wear only tank tops. :bawling:
