No, I am orriginally from Massachusetts, but live and work there now. We are in the B division of European Lacrosse and finished second to Finnland in the B division European Championships last year in Salzburg. We have 3-4 danish players who could be playing at the Division 3 level in the US. We have another 5-6 danes who are pretty good, and another group of prospects who stand out, even though they have been playing for only a few months. Plus a small number of "ringers" from Canada and the US. Our coach is a self-taught Dane who is really doing an excellent job. We also have a coach for the national team, an ex-DU player who lives in Sweden. The sport is growing rapidly. A second club has been established. We are also trying to set up the sport for younger players in a couple of the suburbs. This winter we have gotten 7-8 new players. All told, our numbers are probably around 50-strong.
We have had several visits from American coaches at the high school level and these have been great experiences.
I was in on the start of prep-school Lacrosse in the 1950s as a young boy at my school. I helped to start the sport at Colorado College in the early 60s, along with a small group of preppies. I have seen all this before and it is really fiun to be able to particiapte again.
We hope somone here will read about us and drop in during a vacation.

Laxchamp, most European teams don't care how old you are, as long as you can play (and for those that don't play yet, as long as they are willing to learn). When my old team won the German championships the last time, our players ranged from 15 to 51.
Frihed 89, we'd be happy to play you sometime! By the way, I know Kristian Gotsch (I know he's in Den Haag for now) and played together with a couple of Copenhagen players at the 2003 Amsterdam tournament (Kristian Schweitzer and a defenseman named Swen, I believe).

Hi, i'm coming over to Copenhagen to study at University and have played for my Uni in Bristol, England and was wondering if there is any lacrosse going on in Copenhagen, and if so, would I be able to join?

You have got quite a few options in Copenhagen these days - there are currently four clubs:
Copenhagen Lacrosse - www.copenhagenlacrosse.com
Ballerup Bandits - www.balleruplacrosse.dk
Gladsaxe Myrmidons - www.gladlax.com
Amager (KFB) Raiders - no site at this point but let me know if you want contact details
So, depending on where you are going to live in the city, you should probably chose the one that is closer to you......

Play is all year round yes....Frederiksberg is not far from where Copenhagen Lacrosse practice but also possible to get to other clubs from there. Just go ahead and contact the clubs directly, see which practice days fit your schedule etc....and have fun in CPH ;-)
