For those of you who play, how tough is your middle/ high school's football training? Our's isn't too bad, like 5 100 yard suicides, this thing called snakes 3 times, perimeter running, and other small things. Snakes is you sprint directly across the feild starting at the endzone. Once you get to the sideline you crab ten yards, get up and then get up and run across the field again, and do the same thing all the way to the end. I just want to get an idea of of tough mine is. Say your grade too.

Im in 9th grade and ours is harder than that. Plus we only get water once during a 2 hours practice.

wow, only a 2 hour practice? you guys have it EASY
we get like usually 2-3 on a hot hot day unless you ask for more in about a 3 - 3 1/2 hour practice. The coaches know what they are doing and can tell when we actually need it, so i have good trust in them. Also the trainer is never far so its all good

BTW practice 5 days a week-2 weeks for conditioning
then m-t and sat morning during school / season

during the summer, my JV team had practice for like 4-5 hours and then we ran a bunch of sprints or bear crawls

Snakes are horrible. I used to have to do sprint hills, and then after we would have to crab them so consider urself lucky.

Has no parent complained about this? Kids die like this alllll the time. Not drinking water isn't making anyone stronger or faster, your coach is a damn idiot. Tell him I said that.

Agreed, Chariot. There is something called dehydration, and in those conditions that is highly possible.

You need water even when you aren't dying of thirst. Believe me, I've been running cross country for years, I know the right way to hydrate. So ask for it more often, you will perform better.

for my school we had 2 weeks of preseason double sessions with 2 and a half hours long each and on the second session we would have to do the carnival. its a conditioning exercise where there are 9 different stations and youd have to bear crawl at one, up-downs at another, sprints at another, crunches at another, and some other stuff. it was pretty hardcore.

Yea I know. How many times did we get water Clay, like 4 yesterday in a 90 minute practice. I know that when we get more water we play a hell of a lot better when its about 95* outside.

A kid threw up yesterday because of dehydration and many kids dropped out of practice for a couple minutes. I think we should get more water breaks
