What is the best way to decrease recovery time. I know that after a couple ground ball drills where I give 100% for 30 sec(coach rolls it out really far and you have to run all the way back with it) it takes me a good 30-45 sec to catch my breath.

a series of sprints in a row will help build up ur cardio and therefore reduce recovery time...jog then blast into a sprint for like 30 seconds then jog for 30 and sprint for 30, etc...

or in stead od 30 sec switch everytime you pass a mail box so you get an even amount of time for each

Guerilla Cardio is great for getting your wind up, 4 mins of warm up, 45 seconds dead sprint, 30 jog, 45 sprint, 30 jog a total of 8 times, you can do that with running and then do it jumping rope

K do you think that running with my mouthpiece will help also. Because I have been running all summer and then as soon as I put my mouthpiece in its a gazillion times harder to breathe.

pumping up your VO2 max will be what your looking for. You can do that in explosive but limited ways by doing dead sprint workouts, or you can build it more slowly but generally higher by taking your body to 90% lactate levels or 85% of your heart rate and holding it there for extended amounts of time.

What are dead sprint workouts.
O and if I didn't mention this before part of the problem is I have asthma

dead sprint workouts are just like the name, dead sprints. you sprint as fast as you possibly can, no exceptions, then a recovery job for a bit, then sprint as fast as you can. someone here is calling it 'M.E.L.T.'. These types of workouts are pretty tough to actually be able to do because most people cant actually make their mind take their body to sprint as fast as it can for 15 seconds straight over and over again. Effects of asthma will lessen the more you build up your VO2 max to an extent. I would try and keep your hearrate and lactate threshold levels high for longer periods that way you have a more steady rate of oxygen rather than the large variations you get from sprint workouts.
