Are you taking any supplements? I know that this supplement called "Superdrol" can cause almost excruciating back pain.

Sounds pretty serious.
I don't think a chiropractor can help if it's that bad.
Talk to your doc and take some x-rays.

I think you have a back spasam. This happened to me. It hurt soo much whenever I moved. The best thing is to get some rest and it should become better in a couple of days. If you see a doctor they maybe able to tell you better. Just give it some time.

if it hurts when you move your legs quickly or in odd directions, or when you twist your back like when laying down or something, its more than likely your sciatic nerve(runs from your heel all the way up your back), or you have just strained the really sensitive areas around it. If you have to walk with a stagger and sort of hunch over than you definately need to stop any physical activity and go to the chiropractor and doctor. Happened to me during wrestling and I had to sit out of all activity for 2 weeks, could only do non contact(running) for another week, and finally after a month i could get back into live wrestling. It sucks, I was always popping ibuprofen and doing a lot of stretches. go to your trainer and have him take a look too. He can do stem, ultrasound, heat/cold baths and give you quite a few stretches to help ease it out.
Good luck man

A friend of mine had the similar problem, it turned out to be a broken vertabrate. He sat out 4 days, and is playing again with some type of brace on his lower back.
My advice is NOT to play for awhile. There's a difference between being hurt and injured, and it sounds to me like you're injured. Plus, you don't want to mess around with your back at all, look at all of the ex-Pros who can't walk anymore.

Chiropractors usually take multiple treatments, its not an in and out thing. They're trying to train your bones and muscles to rest in a certain position. Your pain could be anything from a deep bruise to something much more serious. I'd see another Chiropractor, and a doctor with a sports medicine background. Physical therapy (traction) will most likely be the way to go, but a doctor can't really do a whole lot that you want to hear. He can prescribe Drugs, which won't solve anything, just mask your pain, or he can prescribe surgery, which you don't want. If you're lucky, he'll prescribe physical therapy, but a Chiropractor can do that as well.
Because your back feels better as the day goes on, or as the muscles warm up, I'll assume its not a slipped disc or anything like that, and its most likely tissue related not bone or cartlidge involved. Just get to the chiropractor, and ask how long it takes to heal with his help. Hold him to that schedule. Get to the doctor, and make sure its not bone related and playing sports won't make that thing worse. Good luck man.

get an MRI. no chiropractor should touch you without seeing one anyway.
search these boards, I know for a fact I personally gave detailed info in atleast 3 different threads.

I agree with busdriver on this one, plus I had a herniated disc and had the surgery done about 2 yrs ago. The pain going down into your hip could be a warning sign, get an MRI (actually they'll make you get an x-ray first to make sure your okay skelatally) done don't wait around, insurance will cover it, ditch the chiropractor (it is a very shady profession). Don't make the same mistake I did and put it off thinking it will just go away, cause mine started as a little pinch in my lower back, I didn't think anything of it, after a while I started getting a pain around my hip and down into my butt cheek, still being hard headed I thought it would eventually go away. After about 4 months of this the pain started moving down my leg into my ankle and then eventually to the point my left leg was going completly numb, this was probably about 8 or 9 months later.
I put it off for so long because, like your saying, some days it didn't really hurt that bad and then some days I couldn't even tie my shoes, its always real bad in the morning, then you get in a hot shower it loosens up and its not that bad. I'd get the MRI done, its better than spending all this time guessing, and if surgery is inevitable its actually better to get it done now while your young and you heal quickly.

I was in the same boat my junior year of college. The problem was misdiagnosed and I went two months before the athletic trainers pulled me from fallball to get me to an orthopedist who specialized in sports medicine. Got MRIs done and he best bet to play again was surgery, but I should do it at home, not college. Problem was my area of MoCo was besieged by the Snipers at the time and the doctors I was supposed to see kept cancelling on me and I was now 4 months into living w.excruciating pain. I was late to most classes no matter how earliy I left because I sometimes just couldn't walk, and never upright at that. I almost never made it back to school from Thanksgiving I was in so much pain, the only reason I traveled was I had finally gotten a neuro surgeon to look at me and agre I needed surgery post-haste, which I didn't get until Xmas. After 6 1/2 months I never want to relive I still get resdual pain if I twist the wrong way or take a cheap shot in the back. I had the month of January to recover and I was able to start spring practice immediately althoug a lot slower that I usually am (and being the slowest guy on my teams even I was surprised at how slow I had become).
My advice. Go see a doctor (specifically neuro surgeon as they will most likely preform the procedure, it helps if they have a sport med background) and get yourslef checked out immediately, what I went through I only wish upon my worst enemies...don't delay...go to the doctor N-O-W!

I had a similar problem like this my sophmore year, I was hit in the lower back while shooting and strained it really bad. The first thing I would do is go see a doctor with a sports medicine background. They can prescribe you pain killers, muscle relaxants, and anti inflamitory medication. They will also be able to start you on a rehab plan, mine consisted mostly of stretches. I was able to play through it, although I was pretty doped up for that whole season.
