now i know where to get a new helmet wen i need one...just a quick question, but wuts the big difference between the chrome and titanium (prices r def. different) but i hav a cpro chrome and i really like how i can see better, but is the titanium a huge difference in being able to see or is it just the new "fad"

PhishMeister

see different ? um i thought it was for added durability

Trilax03

...i mean like does it improve eye sight of the ball sort of...like i would consider my chrome facemask better 2 see than my old black one...it doesn't distract me as much, i was just wondering if the titanium does a better job or something (if that made sense)

titanium is supposed to be lighter, but in the case like the CPX i think it's only a few ounces, also i think the design of the facemask is a little different as well, check the laxnation review for more details though

also titanium is probably a little bit stronger, You might think why bother but at the level where attackman may be shooting 90's i'd go for the extra comfort of having a stronger mask

thanks for the help, i'll g2 laxnation and look up the differences and thefeeder made a good point about shots to the face, i'll probably start to consider a titanium as my next helmet

but also trilax i'v heard that Cascade tests their helmets up to the 100+ mph range so i think that titanium would be somehwere over the basic strength but still the black or chromnaium facemask would still be able to withstand 100+mph, if that's what they test it too, but again, the titanium does have its aesthetic qualities

thanks a lot for the help laxattack2...in ur opinion wut would u choose (chrome or titanium) if it was up 2 u, u seem to know a lot about the helmets

On Cascades the actual shape of their titanium masks differ from their chrome and black ones. I was looking at them and the titanium CPX does not have a curve in its shape, but rather just straight shapes.

Yeah guys, once LaxNation gets back up (we're having some technical problems), our CPX and CPro reviews explain the differences in the Ti and regular facemasks well-including the curvature in the regular facemasks while the Ti doesn't.

i figure since ti is stronger is able to be farther out with still withstanding the blows.. weaker metals need to be closer together and ti is easier to see out of

personally, i'd say if you've got the cash and the want go ahead and get the titanium, personally i think this year for my hs team helmet we can either get chromanium or ti, but i think i'm getting chromanium simply bc i don't think that there really is too much of a signifigant difference and plus i don't wanna be that kid who has the CPX titanium, idk personally i don't think i could back a CPX Ti, but it's really up to you, either way you're getting a great helmet

Overall, even the MLL uses the regular black-face masked CPX's, the titanium may be stronger, but they're mainly charging you $50 more for the light weight of the mask. The shell of the helmets are exactaly the same besides the face mask to clear up that question.

^^ yeah iknow what you mean, so much baggage comes with owning warrior equipment for me, bc no matter how good you really are there's always the presumed notion, and you're always "that guy"

that is a good point as well...idk if i have wut it takes 2 back up such an "elaborate" helmet...i don't know if i want to really stick out a whole lot but i guess in a girls game where only the goalie wears a helmet, i kinda stick out anyway

.....but they're mainly charging you $50 more for the light weight of the mask......

Someone should actually weigh these two models side by side.

Almost all of a helmet's weight is in the shell and padding, I'd be very surprised if the Ti facemask resulted in even a 5% reduction in total helmet weight. Negligible, not worth $10, let alone $50!

To me, the one benefit that may be worth paying for is if you strongly prefer the sightlines through the Ti Mask.

I wouldn't get a Ti facemask. The guys generally need it, but in girls of someone can shoot 60, it's impressive. And like someone said cascade tests all its helmets up to 100. I have the chrome cpx. It is lighter than the standard black one, and the sight lines are great. But I think Ti might be overkill. Maybe put the extra fifty towards gloves or something.
