arm guards slidiing everywhere

when your taking the faceoff and your hard mesh is still inverted and the ball is on the tip of your stick and all your thinking is, "this pass will be ugly"

when your about to score and someone throws a horrible pass

when attackmen try to shoot behind the goalline extended

Attackmen trying to be the hero

Goalies clearing it 2334 feet over you

Horrible kids who have all the sweet equiptment

Horrible kids who complain about not playing yet on the sideline they talk about what there doign when they get home, waht there weekends like etc.

When you make a bad play then someone else does the same thing but ends up scoring and the coach congradulates them saying they did everything right

HAvign a crappy Pre game warm up

when you have a wedgy in the middle of the game and you cant pick it because your glvoes are on or your running an iso

When you have a wide open shot and your coach tells you to pass
then that person drops the balls and it goes the other way

On man up when you dont want to ruin the play but you have a perfect shot

Kids who twirl there stick as cradling

PEA SHOOTERS

Goalies running with the ball everywhere

When your taking a faceoff and you work your A#$ off and the other middies dont get it and back away

HAving the 3rd line out wiht 10 seconds left of the game and the other team gets the winning goal

Losing to the same team 3 times but you played amazing

Football players with a lacrosse stick

People who dont attempt to use there off hand no matter what

STRINGING A STICK AND THE SIDEWALL IS TOO SHORT!!

wiating for the fields to clear 1 month into lax season still playing in the gym. on the concrete

Useless Lacrosse Drills

Getting called out and the coach doenst realize it wasnt you that made the bad play and after ranting for 10 minutes on how you suck oyu tell them it wasnt you and the team says its someone else and he goes, "Oh" and jsut stops and never says sorry. kinda hurt my feelings =\ lol

EXCITED FOR THE GAME THE NIGHT BEFORE AND CANT GET SLEEEPPP!

oh theres more, plenty moree haha

When your wide open on the crease no coverage and some kid decides he has a better shot 10+ yards out with coverage, then he misses the shot anyways.

I'm an old time defenseman......As I get older (grandmaster)- I observe midfielders who want to reclaim the glory days.......fast break....here that mid comes- typical slide by all 3 d men with some attachman open.....no pass- just a weak attempt at a restraining line shot- I played in a game at a trny- no kidding- happened at least 10 times- after a while- I started hammering- no stick up- I went straight at them- my attackman was good-open everytime...never made the pass.

Same thing happened in another recent alumni game- I can see it in their eyes....the guys winds up- hammered him....he whined heavily as he ran off the field- he got no sympathy from his attackman as they sit 8 yards left of the goal....wide open.....

practicing in a gym with white walls with a white ball and you get a perfect pass but you lose the ball and it hits you in the facemask

living in wisconsin so you dont get to practice outside til after spring break 1 week before your home opener

when goalies throw a hissy fit when they get scored on when it was really an easy save

when you make a good defensive play only to look back and see the ball rolled into the net after it hit your stick

having nothing better to do in the library so im writing about all the thigns a hate instead of doing my homework

when a bad pass comes to you, usually bounces. But you should still catch it, but u miss it. the whole team moans your name and you try to argue it should have been a better pass.

when you break yourk shaft cuz u throw it at a concrete wall when you miss a ground ball during an indoor game. (guilty)

when you play goalie, and a defender passes to you but its a sh!t pass, and the ball goes rite out front the goal and they score.

when you restring a pocket over and over again, but for some unknown resaon the pocket ends up uneven.

when middies stand still during clears

when you play nidoor winter leages with a white cieling and white walls with bright white lights and you play with a white ball and you can never see anything.

when your team does stupid drills and its 3 on goalie shooting, and some cocky idiot decides to shoot full speed from the edge of the crease, but he misses and hits you in the legs or the knee.

when your team sucks because at practice the only offensive drills you do involve fast breaks or being man-up, so when it comes to a real game nobody knows what to do.

when, on a face break, no defender takes the point and the shooter gets a 20 yard wind up and rips a shot from the 15 yard line undefended.

when people forget to keep their eye on the ball and they just look at their man

when people forget to keep their eye on their man and they just look at the ball

when you tell someone to watch their man behind the goal at X, they chase him when he dont have it. and when you tell him to not go after him, he doesnt even chase him behind when he has the ball.

when you are on your man, and some kid on your team decides to switch on you and one man gets open.

when your middies and defence and other teamates blame you for not saving an undefended goal from 15 yards out.

people that dont wear cups in games, and complain about how "that ball almost took off my balls" and they are scared to go back on the field.

When my school's football coach says that lacrosse players AREN'T REAL ATHLETES and that lacrosse is the chess of sports. I'm not really sure what he meant by the last comment, but I'm assuming he meant that lax players are nerds or something. I'm sure it wasn't that we have to think more cause he wouldn't give lax that kind of credit.

It's really sad cause I'm from Louisiana and our lax programs are just starting down here, and it's arrogant people like that that piss me off. The guy has no idea what lacrosse is about.

Balls that you loose, but can still see but cant get to -.-
Clipping your ankles with your boots.
Getting your foot stomped by a massive attacker.
Side wall String breaking.
Being called for an Illegal pocket when it never is.
Passes hitting the tip of your head.
Being Subbed.
Chin straps coming undone when people check your helm.
People will Multi-Coloured Mesh
People Who cover their whole pole in Medicine Tape.
Missing a ground ball and having to stop and turn around.
Edit:
Ball hitting you in the shins.
Ball bouncing just before your head.
Getting dust, sand, dirt etc... in your face then looking like an idiot wandering around.
Dropping your pole.

as a middie:
-when other middies are moving slow
-when you make a perfect feed and attack man drops it
-when you have to run back and forth constantly because your team is giving up turnovers like it's candy on halloween
-when you miss a scoop and look like a moron
-when you, somehow, slip while making a dodge
-when your cup pinches you instead of protecting
-when your coach makes a little toss to you that you miss because he's 2 feet away and you weren't expecting it
-when you're line gets subbed and you weren't the least bit tired
-people who use electrical tape instead of normal tape
-shoulder pads that "flap"
-when parents yell at refs and coaches when they don't know what they're talking about or their son wasn't being put in but he sucks
-not cutting enough sidewall string to finish your pocket
-little kids who beg to have their sticks strung and expect you to do it immediately
-people who think lax is stupid that have never seen a game, i live in georgia so it's all football and basketball
-when sucky people brag about how good they are

-Teammates who DO NOT ever get back on Defense even when the change of possession is their fault entirely. You made the turnover you can at least jog back or even walk back dude, you don't need to pout at midfield, blame your stick, and wait for a chance to cherry pick.

-HACKS - noun - Toolboxes who have little to no skill who decide to intentionally hurt other people rather than learn how to play defense or get a loose ball.

- Speaking of hacks, getting whacked in the only spot that isn't padded (ie. the wrist bone or upper arm)

so far in the 3 games we have had a total of 3 goals not count that were in, and one be taken away for illegal stick that wasn't illegal. Yeah that one guy that said JV players cradling all day is annoying i have one that worse. We were a first year team last year and we had this kid that didnt try we are now varsity this year and he didnt make it so he manages, but brings his stick and carries it around all day and cradles and he doesn't even play, or on the team. He doesnt even do anything as a manager but the coach and other people feel to sorry for him to tell him to go away... rant over...

-when people snatch at the ball
-when people throw/catch with their hands really close together (gloves touching)
-when people refuse to use their offhand
-when people think they're better than you when they're obviously not
-FOGOs
-when people rip shots right in to the goalies stick
-shooting with balls that were left outside and now have no grip left on them
-yellow balls (or any colors other than white or orange actually)
-breaking a head when you finally have the pocket perfect
-crispy gloves
-people who try to go through 4 guys and get put on their butt instead of pulling out when they get doubled and cant dish
-people who have seizures with their stick when they try and dodge
-people who shoot sidearm/underhand on the run but always miss the net
-sticks with a lot of whip
-sticks with a bag
-pockets that sit really low
-knee socks
-people who wear pants in games (other than goalies)
-flamboyant colored sticks/mesh (pink, neon green, etc...)

totally agree! I had one game, the best game I ever played, went for 28 saves! However i only went like 60% on clears because my middies couldn't catch, my long poles who work with me daily had no problem but the middies act like they had never been cleared to before, it was annoying and we lost 8-4. 2 years ago. Still a lil bitter.

Kids who play other sports and talk about lacrosse being soooo easy when they couldnt last three minutes on the field.

Low sitting pockets.

Kids who think they are good becase they good one or two good hits in...a season.

Annoying attackmen.

Definitely knee socks.

If you have a colored stick: neon, green, pink, blue, etc, unless its a team color, you better be good.

Kids who think they have an amazing shot because they can score in practice two feet from the goal with no goalie.

Defensemen who walk around with short sticks (unless there is no need for a longstick to be carried around)

Kids with no offhands.

Way too much tape on your stick.

Poorly kept sticks, for example: mesh thats five years old, bent shafts (another pet peeve) tape thats turned colors

When your attackmen beats you in practice and wont let you forget it

i would have to say

When defensmen think they can play middie and say that they have wicked stick skills (although some do)

Kids who growl at you. ex "I'm gunna hit you in practice!"

Trainers who show up to the games to sit with girls in the stands.

When kids on the freshman team tell Varsity players they can beat them on faceoffs.

Fat kids. Rare but annoying, especially fat goalies.

of course when kids are just there to hurt you, and have no real stick skills, just there to slash the (profanity) out of your whole body. And when i play attack, standing at the mid or restraining line, and the d man just rests his head on your stick or gloves, ts sooo wierd, and fing annoying, i'd move it away and everything, but he'd just keep tapping me and putting it back on. then id look at his face and be like, "dude, wtf?" yea, you have to experience it.

oh and also to add something kind of random, its kinda rare, but sometimes like when a goalie wears his rolled-up to his knees sweat pants, thinking he's really cool, and then during a game, while wearing them, and when the ball is at the other end of the field, he goes and walks up to the restraining line, holds his stick in both hands, and kinda puffs-out his chest, and raises his head, just standing there. i've seen it sometimes, it just pisses me off, lol, he thinks he's pretty darn BA.

Buddy passes most of all, especially at attack. Just because you can't catch doesnt mean you should assume I cant either and set me up for a huge hit.

Sacrificing your body for a goal by cutting across the crease, catching a great feed in step, and getting elevation for a shot before the hit, then shooting what feels like a perfect shot, taking a huge hit, and getting back up to find out that the goalie blocked it (or even worse hearing it hit the pipe). This is the worst because your whole team, especially whoever set you up for the goal, is dissapointed too.

Mismatching sock color/lengths.

D-poles going for nut shots on purpose. If youre going for my stick and just happen to miss a little bit, it's not a big deal; but if you do it on purpose.... the next shots coming right at your gut.

Players who give up after making a mistake. Especially if its a midi who turns the ball over then slowly tries to sub off WHILE YOURE ON DEFENSE.

Players who yell at refs.

Finally, missing any EMO or fast break. It just doesnt seem right when fewer, slower defenders and can stop more, faster offensive players. (This only applies for turnovers, not missed shots)

Daddy ball. On my high school team we had 3 coaches. They all had kids on the team and got signifigant playing time. Only one of them was good. I just found out alst week that the head coach'es son was selected to the all-county team. He missed over half the games because he was sitting in a wheel chair. Even if he was fully able to play he is still fvcking horrible. Ok rant is done now.

when you are stringing a stick and u think your finished so u cut the end of the string but then u realize u messed up and the string is too short to tie another knot with.

also when u are taking a face off and u tell the kid who is playing middie Exactly where the ball will be and it is exactly where it should be but the kid isnt.

also when im in my backyard and crack my neighbors fence with a shot

while playing midfield defense, i finally took my first shot (which hurt like hell). My D-pole quickly picked it up while i was running downfield for the fastbreak, but then he threw me the buddy pass of the century.

People who would rather damn you to hell than let you shoot anyway but overhand.

Stringing a top-string and coming up just short enough so that you can't tie it off.

People killing EMO in the first 5 seconds with a dumb shot

D-poles that aren't very good, but they throw a ton of hard slap checks

getting poked in the throat

And finally... SLICK BALLS x 100000000

Definitely when I have a shot, but decide to be courteous to my teammates and pass to them, and they completely miss the goal (or don't even get a shot off)

Old, useless mesh on your stick that makes it seem like your playing with a slippery ball rubbed down with grease from Long John Silver's fish...

Or, the old mesh that you have left in your stash, but refuse to throw away for no particular reason. (or decide to save it just in case an annoying teammate of yours decides to ask you to string their stick...instead of taking 2 minutes to find a tutorial on an amazing website called...lacrosseforums.com...)

- sliding arm guards
- throwing a sweet cross-crease pass on a fast break, and having it dropped.
- throwing any good feed and having it dropped
- average players that wear all the 'best' (and most often most expensive and shiny) gear.
- being injured (had a minor tear in my quad, had to sit out for a week, hated it)
- coaches not looking when you do something awesome, but always seem to see you miss a shot
- although it seems to have been phased out in recent times, players that wear one high (knee length) sock and one low sock. you look like an idiot.

#1) Losing lacrosse balls, drives me nuts, i sometimes miss my goal, it hits the backstop and somehow disappears... :banghead: :guns:

2) getting the ball on defense as a middie, running it all the way down the field, passing it around to a trigger happy attackman who fires away a crappy shot which the goalie saves and turns into a fast break, meaning i once again have to sprint full field for the second time in 10 seconds.

3) when i string a stick and the string i just cut turns out to be too short.

-Getting decked on the crease after a shot and asking a fellow attackman if it went in... makes me feel really dumb.
-Missing a grounder
-Dropping a pass because of the anticipation of a shot
-8 on 8s... please, bring enough players next time
-People asking what head my evo 2.0 is
-People thinking my spectra side walls (spectra is really strong sailing string, pretty thin) is fishing line

-goalies that question me... does it really bother you when i pace around you in circles?

I hate when somebody, usually a non-scoring mid-fielder, takes a bad shot when the attackmen are out of position to back up the goal. This invariably happens when we have struggled to possess the ball and really should be settling it down and looking for a quality scoring opportunity.

I am all for taking shots whenever they are open (and sometimes even when they aren't), but let's only do that when we have the shot backed up, mmkay?
