I was born and still living in Thailand just like my parents, so i'm a 100% Thai (for those who don't know Thailand...look on ur map and look under China u'll see a small country called Thailand). I was an exchange student to NJ, USA in 2003-2004...and that's where i was introduced to lacrosse for the first time. I have to say i fell in love with it...we were a first year team so there weren't many experienced kids on the team. I worked very hard for the first month of practice and finally got a spot on Varsity as a back up for long pole middie but i ended up as D-middie at the end of the season. Eventhough it has been more than a year but the thought about lax never leaves my mind...i still have full lax gear in my closet (the whole team pitched in money and got me a whole set of gear before i came back)...i always come to TLF or e-lacrosse to update myself with lax. Me and my little bro go out and toss the ball around all the time...and everytime we play people will look at us or ask "what r u guys doing?" haha. So i can say i'm the first Thai lax player haha. I miss lax so much...i miss running down the feild with full gear, going for a ground ball head to head with the other guy. I love every minute in a game even if we lost...i'm just happy to play lax. I really wish i could start a team out here...but i really don't know what to do, maybe if u guys r kind enough to give me a few idea it would be great.

I split this post from the dutch lacrosse thread-the other thread was really just fodder meant for the international sticky.

try to get ur friends and ur brothers friends interested in it...if they like it then try to spread the word to other ppl until u hav enough for one or two teams then u guys can try to find a field or a backyard and play games...i'm not too sure if u know any1 who can help u make an actual lacrosse league or clinic to get ppl started but if u do that'd b great

Yeah just get together some of you freinds and see if they want to play. If you get in contact with the International lacrosse federation they may give you a grant to buy some sticks and gear and stuff like that apart from that just spread the word to your freinds and try and get some games going on, once that happens the players will follow.

thanks for all of ur advices.
I had already introduced lax to some of my friends...and they seem to like it. And i also already contacted International Lacrosse Federation but there's nothing much they can do...cuz i don't really have anything going on over here. I think what i really need is money...at least just to get some more gear so i can show people how to really play the game. And if we got enough people and enough money i know some people that's more than happy to fly over and set up a lacrosse camp or clinic. But that's just my idea.
thanks for all ur help again.

yeah, I would buy some videos or something to show your friends how the game is really played. That would probably get them even more pysked up to play.
Thats wicked cool though, this shows how the game is really spreading.
