In a MP thread it was said MP's a lot of laxer's hero. Like GG but properly commercialized to be loved by the mases. So here's a thread to tell us yours.
Mine are options 1-3,and 8-10.

although i respect so many goalies and they are all who i look up to , i like aaron fenton from duke. he was a 5th year senior and didnt play until his senior year( a tiny bit junior year) he worked really hard and got the starting spot and did really good. definetly someone i look up to.

I agree w/ sickay, Matt Russell is amazing.
Anyone who could play a quarter w/ a broken collarbone and have to pop his shoulder back into place 3x..at goalie is worthy of anyone's admiration.
Trevor Tierney is the other goalie I strive to play like. It's hard not to like the #1 goalie in the world, though Cattrano is pretty sick too.

wow i have alot but i guess i have 2 really main idols mikey.p and kyle harrison. im not a mikey poser at all infact i hate those kids who r like that but just the way he plays and how everybody else on the field is bigger than him yet he still finds a way to dominate. harrison for bein just dominant and the fact that he is black like me. i think the first black person to win the tewarraton so thats a big inspiration for me

Tom Phair. A completely dirty player, with one heck of a scrappy attitude. I doubt anyone knows who he is, but if you search some NLL history, you'll find out he was a Philadelphia Wings defenseman, and helped them win the 2001 championship. He's also part of the only father/son championship combination (his father won the NLL championship in 1974, and Tom won in 2001).

mike powell. he is one of the reasons that i got into lacrosse as much as i have. the frst college game i saw was the syracuse navy national championship game, and it shows some of his pther highlights in that game

Jay Pfieffer, watching him play for Syracuse is what got me to play goalie.

brodie merril is definitely mine. so much so that i even know how to spell his name(lol...i think its merril but i'm not sure).
i've only been able to catch a couple games of his, but in each of them he has been absolutely insane.

dave petramala, player of the year, coach of the year
only person to ever do that.
not to mention that he is arguably the best defenseman to ever play the dame

Yeah but it was their offense that won it, plus an extremely underrated defense. Any goalie could have been in net for this team.
Tierney is extremely shakey and lacks the polish of a Greg Cattrano, Bill Daye, Sal Locasio, or even Brian Dougherty.

Tierney is not a great goalie. good, but not great. He looked really good in college because they play a system that does not rely on the goalie to make saves. you can like him as much as you want, but you just cannot compare him to cattrano, sal, doc. billy daye, of the recent goalies.

so the all-world title and recent MLL championship are based off this same 'don't need a goalie' style? I think not.

thanks for the intentional misreading. but all world title usually goes to the team that wins... and there are probably several HS AA goalies every year who could get the all world goalie, because Canadian goalies tend to not be as good, due to box, and because the rest of the world is not there yet. in regards to the MLL championship, they had one of the best attack lines in the country, as well as a very underated defence. Add that to a solid midfield, you cannot lay credit on his shoulders. he was only 4th in the MLL in save percentage, while on the best team. I forgot a goalie as well. Garitty is better as well.
