Hi Everyone:
The Rock may have lost lastnight but the NLL fans showed they are champions!
Some awesome things happened lastnight.
First off Spencer and Taylor the girls making Lisa's Beads made a special bracelet for Les and asked me to give it to him. Gloria was at the pre-game lastnight. Let me say when you hear the statement " beside every great man is a great women" I see Gloria Bartley. I'm a pretty strong person but this women is the epitomy of strength, you truely Rock Gloria. I presented her with the bracelet and she proceeded to buy 5 more of Lisa's Beads. Gloria asked me to sit with her and her friends at the table. I won't divulge the conversation out of respect to the Bartley's but I will say all things considered Gloria the family are doing good and Les is doing way better then expected.
Secondly, a big thank you to Andrew of the Lacrosse Journal. On the back of the cover page of Volume 1, Issue 1 of the Journal is a full page advertisement for Les's Fund. Andrew this goes above and beyond support. Along with a bunch of amazing articles in the magazine is a two page story of Les and his impact on the game. Thanks again Andrew...Thankyou.
Thirdly, thanks to the Buffalo Bandit Brigade. Bandit and MacRazor picked the beads and a beading kit to make the bracelets. Bandit's kids are the latest members of Lisa's Angels making the bracelets. It was great meeting the Bandit fans at Badali's
Finally. Lastnight was the first night Les's Beads were made available to the public and activley sold. The response was incredible, the bracelets sold like one of Driscol's bullets. Thanks to all the players, the Rock office staff, the Roadies and the unnamed fans who bought the bracelets. People who didn't want the bracelet just gave money. For those who want to make donations Les's Fund Canadian Cancer Society envelopes are available
When all said and done, as of lastnight $410.00 have been raised so far. THANK YOU ALL....BUT WE AREN'T DONE YET.
Lisa's Beads for Les' Fund will be available all season and at the ACC community tables during the February 27th Charity Classic and the March 12 game.
Thanks everyone for their support so far, together we are going to do a whole bunch of good!
Yes cancer does have a new enemy...Lacrcosse fans....and we don't play nice!
