Ok, so i decided that I wanted to get a gaming system for my room as I'm incredibly bored a lot of the time (who said college was going to be a lot of work? not me) so I want to get either a ps2, xbox, or gamecube. Right now I'm leaning towards gamecube just because I can get it so cheap and I'm a poor college student. I'd prefer an xbox but they're more expensive. i won't lie, I'm not a huge fan of ps. Any thoughts?

Id say wait to get enough money for xbox. Gamecube is geared toward mostly younger kids so they have alot less shoot em ups and harder games. Xbox is for sure the better of the two in terms of fun, graphics, and worthy of money. Xbox is really the way to go.

Definetly go for the xbox. Now you can either run to the store and buy one or wait like 2 months after the 360 comes out and I'm sure they'll go down in price. Or buy a used one.

you guys dont listen...i say brake out a little more and get a used xbox on ebay
these games are my reccomended: close combat first to fight(amazing cheap army game, great online play), nhl 2k6, halo 2, gta san andreas.......these are the games i always find myself playing
edit: deal with the boredness a little longer though...once xbox360 comes out xbox prices will hit rock bottom

ok so if xbox is really the way to go then why did the ps2 outsell the xbox?

I'm dishing out the $$$ for an xbox 360 it looks like it will be sick and when I heard I can plug my ipod into it I was sold.

Xbox is bassicly like a computer. So what would your rather have a computer (xBox) or a very high tec dvd player (PS2)? **COUGH xBox COUGH** just save up : )
Like what whats been said; wait till xbox 360 comes out (november) and get a used xbox (origonal) They should be cheep as balls. They have "premium" games for 20$. theyre good, just a little old. Go with the xobx over gamecube too. Gamecube is a joke. If youre bored now, wait till you drop some $ on a gamecube, youll be bored and poor.

Even if you might not have enough money get an Xbox 360 ($400). You will never be bored believe me. Free online multiplayer, hook up a monitor to it and you have a computer. Oh ya, its also totally wireless, absolutely no wires. Those are just some of the features. Even though its pretty expensive, its a good investment.

or i could not spend 400 and get an xbox when the 360 comes out. 400 for a system is absolutely insane. I'd rather put that towards either photography or my college tuition. you put it very well zak. Can always count on you.

1. Xbox + Mods = Xbox Media Center + ability to rip your games to your Xbox for backup purposes.
2. Xbox 360 and wait for mods to come out.

Get the Xbox. It will be the best decision you ever make in your life. Then, buy a wireless controller and Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. Then watch the civilians flee from your bullets.

I second option #1. Modded Xbox is the way to go. Mine's been working like a charm for over 2 years now.

i like xbvox but id actually recommend a super nintendo....thats rite SNES. i love the games they have on there like donkey kong and mario world.....but if you want shoot em up games xbox is the way to go...

Xbox, without a doubt. It has a great selection of games, lots of ppl have it, and, best of all, Xbox Live. Im T PRO ne1 who has it hit me up. :thumbsup:

x box if you cant afford the 360 but if u can afford it i would go with the 360 its worth the wait. at least thats what i have read
