OK, since you asked so nicely

This just enforces my belief that George Bush is, truly, a moron. This man just appointed one of the most powerful people in the United States, now that is scary.

I believe it...SURE.
It's exactly like how the Beatles "told" Charles Manson to put 169 stab wounds in Sharon Tate, LaBianca, and the 5 other people his family mutilated. The White Album told him to do it, right?

White House denies Bush God claim
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4317498.stm
"Israel and the Arabs: Elusive Peace will be broadcast on BBC Two on Monday 10, 17 and 24 October at 2100 BST."
We'll all have a better idea of what was said after the documentary program is aired next week. A sensible person would wait until after viewing the footage in it entirety or reading a transcript before making too many comments

I dont have to make the president look bad.. he did that to himself...
horrible economy, awful job market, more enemies than ever, a neverending war that is going nowhere and was started over something that wasnt even there, a "christian" man who was busted for DUI and gave the bird to the camera when he was governor, a president who takes vacation more than any other president, spiking gas prices, a national deficit which is out of control and only getting worse... should i really go on??? i dont have to do anything to make him look bad... you just have to look at what he has done over the past 5 years.

I mean, talk about a big deal. And don't give me that lying under oath BS, it was completely partisan politics.

Yeah...but you're saying liberals are trying to take down the gov't through lies, when they most likely aren't. To be honest considering the republicans have already tried and failed i'm surprised you have the cajones to try and play the blame game with that little piece :).

lol, saying bush said god was on his side just sounds democratic organized to me. I wouldnt expect the democrats to NOT have said it. The loosing party of the election always makes something bad up after a little while it seems.

Honestly, this is borderline like AIM speak to me. Adds nothing to the conversation, and a waste of space.
Basically a political "your mama".

No, most Christians just use God as an excuse, almost like Staples Easy Button.
How would you know what most Christians do? Are you a Christian? Is it fair to generalize like that? I think not. Such broad generalizations without evidence to back it up is not cool. Odds are, you haven't met "most Christians". I take God seriously. I try to do what's right. When people make general statements against Christianity, it bothers me. I feel such comments are made without regard. I don't think all Musilums are terrorists because a few are in the news for being terrorists. It would be nice if you didn't assume all Christians use the Lord as an "easy button".

Agree. Lying under oath about that shouldn't be as big a deal as it was made to be.
Chris Rock said it best - Everyone lies about sex. Hell, most of us lie during sex! :naughty:

Actually it does, link to an article about how George Bush thinks God directly talks to him and tells him to do stuff, then the OP makes a sarcastic comment.

Ok, how bout this? I am a christian... and although most christians may not use God as an excuse, A LOT do. I especially like the ones who justify their bad deeds with passages from the bible that are taken out of context. My favorites are the ones my Dad refers to as "refried beans". These are the christians who led horrible lives, and then "found christ" and think that they're better than those of us who have led pretty good lives the whole time and feel like they need to lecture us about Jesus anytime we make a mistake in life. Because, to be honest, a lot of these people (including our man George) are slimeballs and will preach Christ to make themselves feel good and put themselves up on a pedestal, but when no one's looking they'll turn around and stab you in the back. As far as i can see, as long as you're not upper class, a contributor to his campaign, or one of his friends and family, he doesn't give a crap about you. I know that anytime, I, or anyone in my family turns around, George has pulled something elsse to screw us over. But, then again, we're just middle class democrats who arent expected to vote anyhow, so why should he do anything for us???

I figured the article spoke for itself.
Seems to me like you mods are on somewhat of witch hunt recently.
Moving on...
Seriously though, if I heard any other person say something like this, that God told them to do so and so, I'd still think they're crazy, or at least slightly incompetent. But when it comes from the (arguably) most powerful man in the world, it gets me slightly worried.
And what did you think the white house was gonna do? Of course they're going to deny this.
What happened to Bill Clinton should not have escelated to what it did. That was his own fault. I don't care what goes on in their personal life.

And you're right, i'm sorry, it was a generalization.

i like how mavido made a point then enjoi shut him down, there is some tension even among the mods.
you do realize that when he said god told him, he doent mean god actually came down from heaven and talked to him. just by reading the bible and taking away some of its lesson, god can communicate to you. i talk to god every night in prayer, and i feel that he answers me sometimes.
