This is one of the only t.v. shows I watch, it's hilarious. Plus, Jon Stewart actually is a pretty good interviewer.

jon stewart is highly intelligent. They had him on NPR one time, and he's as good as any other newscaster out there. He knows the facts, and does a very good job of debating them. It's a bonus that he's incredibly funny.

I agree, that's the only news program I watch (once in a while I'll catch Countdown with Keith Olberman on MSNBC). The rest of t.v. news just isn't worth spending time on.

I really do enjoy watching the Daily Show. In my oppinion John Stewart is one of the best political analysts in the media and although I see him as a moderate liberal I do think his show is neither liberal nor conservative in the way it presents itself. While it does make fun of Bush for some things which some conservatives find offensive and liberal I have no doubt things would be the same way had Kerry won the election. The Daily Show will criticize goverment no matter how liberal or conservative it is and I see it as one of the more honest news sources that we have on TV.

John Stewart is my hero; he is absolutely hillarious.
The reason he makes fun of Bush so frequently is because, well, it's easy.

Oh, he most certainly is. You can not honestly say he is not funny. I supported Kerry during the election, but still laughed at every joke Stewart made about him.
Also, I don't see why you use liberal in such a derogatory context; liberal is from the latin word liber, meaning free. A liberal is simply a person who believes in freedom.

No a liberal is carefree with giving out things.
Conservative means that want to save.

It's on Comedy Central, lighten up with "liberal media propaganda" stuff and laugh. They make fun of people from every belief system on there, right now Bush is made fun of most because he's the current president. When a Democrat's in office, he'll get made fun of just the same.

Wow, HdG... you really are a closed minded kid, arent you? We dont like to give out things... we like to help those that are in a rough spot in their lives.... kinda like all those people on unemployment because the job market sucks so much right now... and when we have a republican controlled government, it's hard to blame the democrats for that one. I'd liek to see what you would like to do with all these people that have no jobs because there are none... let em starve??
Oh, and quit taking The Daily Show so seriously... it's a comedy show... they call themselves a show with fake news. It's supposed to be funny... If you wanna hear liberal media that actually brings out the truth about the republican party, listen to Air America.

Yeah... How did they get there? Through things like cocaine, herione, alcohol, and not caring. Basically you guys give welfare to anyone who is black. (Sorry to seem racist, but it's the truth.)

the sad part is, profiling works
in new york right now, thje subways have been threatened, and they have confirmed reports that the terrorist are going to get in through NJ. meanwhile the State police and the AG told the OCT that they cant put muslims in the database because they are muslim. So right not terrorist are about to attack america from NJ and the OCT guys cant do anything because it is illegal to put them in the database or arrest them. If we profiled, this wouldnt be a problem. people need to get a thicker skin
but the daily show is hilarious, i watch that and mad money

What are you tryin to say... my mom was unemployed for 4 months because she did crack??? yeah, i dont thik so. She was unemployed because the economy was so bad that hitachi telecom cut half their staff to cut costs and she was laid off. Then, even though she has a college degree and tons of experience, and has never been fired, she couldnt get a job in Atlanta (one of the busiest markets in the country) because their were more people looking for jobs than there were jobs.
Sorry, but you cant blame everything on drugs... well except for the reason that none of the republicans give rush limbaugh any respect... oh wait, nvm... y'all still treat that oxicontin addict like a god...

GeorgiaMiddie2
10-07-2005, 07:28 PM
no, but, there are things the government can do to boost the economy and give businesses more ability to spend money and give consumers more disposable income. i'm blaming the government for the crappy job market, which in turn left my mom without a job for 4 months.
And, since you strayed our argument way off topic in an attempt to get it of the point that you're a closed minded republican who likes to use sterreotypes and generalizations about democrats and what we believe in, I'm gonna ask you for any sort of proof that all our unemployment checks are being handed out to blacks on drugs...

i watched this show it is kind of funny, perhaps i don't understand it because im over the other side of the world.
down here we have this show called CNNNN(chaser-non-stope-news-network) it's kind of the australian version of the daliy show, You guys can watch some vid's at http://www.cnnnn.com/, watch out for Charles Firth and the firth factor it's like a satirical bill o'riley. Once again this show is a bit Australian so you guys may not get it but it is hilarious for me and defenatly worth a look.

True... but your opinion holds no weight without some sort of support. and if it holds no support, that makes it not an opinion, but rather an uneducated (and, in this case, racist) rambling which shows that you just like to hear yourself talk, even if you dont make any sense.
And, by the way, there a difference between racially profiling and being stereotypical and racist. Racially profiling a group of people involves having some sort of facts to support the racial profiling. so, until you show me some facts to support your statement, i'll just assume your racist...

Lliberal is from the latin word liber, meaning free. A liberal is simply a person who believes in freedom.
You honestly aren't basing your party affiliation based on what the word means, are you?
Just because "conservative" doesn't come from the root for "free", they don't believe in freedom. . . right?

No, not at all. I'm just saying that liberal should not be used in a derogatory context.

Liberal isn't derogatory, however; conservatives usually apply that connotation to the word liberal, and liberals always apply that connotation to the word conservative.

Craig Kilborn was the original host of the Daily Show, and the First airing was actually July 22nd, 1996. It was on my birthday so I remember.
But the Daily Show is awesome.
