yankees suck....newyork sucks....only reason the yankees are good is cause steinrener is like a billion aire and can afford to throw hundreds of millions of dollars at anyone he wants and the boston red sox should have gotten A-rod the union sucks wang if he wante dto take a friken pay cut let him take a fricken pay cut it's none of your business and in conclusion yankess suck and redsox has a much better pitching staff and pitching counts

everyone that keeps saying baseball sucks go talk to someone who gives a flying f*$! this a thread about baseball so leave it alone. a-rod gay-rod same thing if you ask me. he's a metrosexual and we don't need any here in beantown.

steinbrener will be frozen next to tedy ball game next year. all you yankees fans will be crying when jeter gets hurt and a-rod moves to ss and then they both refuse to play 3rd and then torre gets fired and then steinbrenner chokes on a hot dog and then they'll fold.

yankees are nothing without joe torre. the one yankee i like

all the jealous red-sux fans should just crawl bakc in their holes (aka 2nd place). THe yankees didnt break any rules, and George can spend a smuch money as he wants , or needs to. The yanks staff is one of the bets in the league, definetly better than the sux.
here is a real position by position breakdown

1b millar v giambi -giambi wins
2b??? v reese- reese wins
ss jeter-nomar-tie
3b a rod v mueller-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
LF-Matsui v Manny- Manny wins
CF Lofton/Bernie v Damon- not quite sure on that one...gonna be close. but for now ill give it to damon
RF- Trot v Sheffield- Sheffield wins
C Posada v Tek-Posada wins
DH Lofton/Benrie v Ortiz-Ortiz wins

SP

Brown v Schilling- healthy Brown wins (look at career stats, then try to argue)
Pedro v Moose- Pedro wins
Lowe v Vazquez- Vazquez wins
Wakefield v Contreras- Contreras wins
Kim v Lieber- i dont know how lieber will be this year

Closer
Foulke v Mo- do i need to answer this? Mariano definetly

8-5 yanks. but none of this matters because its a team sport

smitt5168

exactly its a team sport. all about chemistry. the yankees have none. atleast yet. the sox are a team. the yankees are made up of indivudal all-stars.

man smitt is on fire with these come backs baseball needs a salary cap george steinbrenner sucks. uh lets see yankees aren't a team like smitt said they are a bunch of over paid cry babies that run home if they sprian a groin whereas real players that don't get paid 12379526 million dollars and play for the love of the game which i must say a-rod does but everyone on the redsox plays for the love of the game not the money except manny i gotta say manny plays for money but everyone else actually like baseball and it's not just a paycheck to them. where as all yankees that are all paid ridiculous amounts of money which the never couold use in one lifetime are heartless slobs i really dislike yankees they suck the big one

Are you on like, super-crack? WTF are you saying the Sox have chemistery? They have two of the biggest egomaniacs in the league in Martinez and Rameriez. Not to mention, Nomar is going to be EXTREMELY bitter about almost being replaced againest his will.
Remember, he never gave the trade his blessing as it would have meant losing his ****ing job on a parenial WS team!
Christ, do you know anything?
Watch Theo go and name Nomar captain to try to make amense for his awful negotitating skills. While you're at it, try to pry a few New Englanders off his *** and remind them about what happened last time they acted cheap when it came to a big name player... *coughruthcough*

Baseball isn't just a game anymore, its businse. You have to choose to enjoy it on a personal level and ignore that side.
And the complete hypocracy to the fact that 6 weeks ago, all of you BoSox fans were riding A-Rod's dick, only to make fun of him because he chose a team that doesn't CHOKE like our damn president on a pretzal, is killing me. I mean, I better watch out or someone might try to freeze my head liek Teddy Ballgame.

TRELAX

The players union has approved the trade. Basicly, aside from the two teams and players involve, they are the final say on if a trad ehappenes. If Selig doesn't sign, for whatever reason, there's a good chance there'd be a bit of legal action/striking going on.
And to whoever said I sound very oppinionated-
I'm passionate about my team. I grew up watching baseball. I'm sure you feel the same way about your favorite team, be it your school againest a rival college or whatnot. In all my years of being a Ynak fan I have never EVER met a rational thinking BoSox fan.
And Theo Epstien is very immature, he openly insulted Steiny after he snatched Contreas last year. In my oppinion, EPSTIEN is whats wrong with baseball. Administrators in organizations should be professional, like George is- using money rather than mouth. Theo is a little nancy.
Someone present a true-blue BoSox fan who has never once said "OMG! TEH YANKZ SUXZ0RZ!!1a#@!" just because they lost out on one thing or another- a player, a game, anything. Just because my favorite franchise is successful doesn't mean you have to whine about it.
I'll finish talking later I gotta run now, the AS game is on.

are you serious? 2nd place? we're not that good. THat'd be the yankees in second place, we're like 4th or 3rd or something. and having chemistry? everytime I read that I think...yeah....that the players have chemistry between each other...I have chemistry with my girlfriend...you get where I'm going. I'm not making fun of the red sox, I like em, but really, as the facts go, the Yanks are better, I just don't like them. But of course everyone's in it for the money, thats why I like college sports better than pro sports. Because the people who participate in them are actually passionate about playing instead of just getting paid. That was an arguement I had in my sophomore speach about how colleges shouldn't pay athletes to play. (which they were considering for some time)

alright trelax all i have to say to you is you think epstein is immature look at don zimmer 78 year old guy goes after a 28 or soemthing year old star pitcher hunts him down in the fray and try to beat him low and behold he got his butt beat on it doesn't matter how old you are you can always be immature and stupid by going after someone and then getting dropped.and to your rational thinking boston redsox comment i have never met a yankees fanthat was rational all they bring up is 26 championships and not the reason being yankees are rich which is the only reason the team wins cause they buy out the whole league and baseball is a business yes i'll give you that; BUT it is also about the love of the game how do you think the players got there...they cared enough about the game to work their tails off so they could go somewhere with it. derek jeter is in it for the money every yanks player besides soriano and matsui are in it for the money matsui plays in a place where they are more passionate about baseball then anything he truly loves the game, and thats why i like matsui and he's the only real player on the yankees. i can't say all of the redsox are in it for the love, pedro is for money manny is for money but i'd say justabout everyother redsock is in it for the love

smitt5168
02-15-2004, 08:23 PM
hey trelax, how's the armpit of america treatin u?

the sox are the most passionate fans in baseballs history.

Why new york sports fans suck.

well when the yankees hit a home run they all say "fagget about it" basically calling themselves faggots.

A yankees fan and a redsox fan are in the urinal. The yankees fan looks over and sees the redsox fan has a bigger bat. the red sox man does not look over because he is confident and "cocky" that his bat is better without looking. this applys to the yankees because when the red sox make a move the yankees strike back in fear of falling behind. So you see in esence, george looks at john henry's "equipment" and says uh oh and pops a few viagras.

I don't condone what Zimmer did. I don't condone Clemens throwing at bat at Pizzia in the Subway Series. I don't condone fighting in ANY sports aside from boxing/martial arts. Its even stupid in hockey and LAX, all it is is a novelty for the fans and a frustrated player who keeps getting beat. If he isn't happy with the calls, tell a coach, don't pick a fight or yell at a ref. BTW- insulting New Jersey... yeah, we invented baseball there buddy.
Back on topic.
For one, Boston fans are NOT the most dedicated ins ports. Through and through I'd say Philly/Eagle fans are, even though I can't stand watching games over there. People can REALLY cripple the players from the stands with the pressure in the Vet (new stadium now).
And making fun of the New York accent, you ever heard a Boston accent? Its 10x worse... although I have a South Jersey accent (its phat mix of NNJ and the Southern States, smoothly spoken yet fast enough for metro-area).
Seriously, if you have to result to saying "well when the yankees hit a home run they all say "fagget about it" basically calling themselves faggots." you have completely run out of ideas.
And nobody has yet to respond to my comment about how all Boston fans were ready to worship A-Rod up until a few weeks ago. Too bad the ownership is too cheap... see its bad decisions like that, similar to the Ruth deal where Fenway Park BELONGED TO THE YANKEES as collateral for a personal loan between the two clubs with Babe Ruth as part of the deal.
About the salery cap thing, you can't insitute it now. A few years ago, maybe you could ahve slipped in a 100M for jsut the pro club. But you guys fail to realize that they also have to pay for stadium upkeep and matainece, all the emploies, all their farm club players, their stadiums, and their emploies. In the end George is shelling out MUCH more than you think jsut to bring homegrown talent like Jeter, Bernie, Mariano, and Posada up every few yearsa.
Just wait for my man Eric Duncan to be taking A-rods spot at third in a few years. Kid's got POP!
Well I'm a bit of track.
In summary-
I can give you dozens of prooven reasons why the Yanks are better, yet you still say they suck. Last time I checked making it to the Series was better than, uhhh losing the ALCS... to Aaron Boone. Reasoning with BoSox fans is like trying to reason with a total off-the-end crack addict on why rehab is good. All they can say is, "no anything but crack (the red sox) sucks. it sucks sucks sucks."
Yankees = 2004 WS CHAMPIONS!

As the story goes, in 1839, Abner Doubleday originated the idea for baseball in Cooperstown, NY.
In 1842, Alexander Cartwright and Daniel Adams of Hoboken NJ, drew up the offical rules for the game.
On June 19th, 1846, the first ever organized baseball game was played on the Elysian Fields in Hoboken, New Jersey where current day Washington St. stands. The game featured a 1-23 loss by the Knickerbocker Base Ball Club to the New York Nine in a four inning game called early because of the score.
Although the story of Doubleday's creation is shrouded in myth and legend, the Hoboken day is the unchallenged first example of orghanized baseball using the rules that were the advanced foundation for the game we play today (w/umpire, no pegs, tags, forces, 3strikes/3-outs).
