the balls shot and is in flight... the wistle blows before it goes in... it then goes in...
is it a goal?
is it a goal if it first hits the goalie after the wistle then goes in?
if it hits the ground and goes in?

No goal can be scored after the whistle sounds, even if the whistle is inadvertant. Period.
The reason is simple: as soon as the players hear the whistle, they have every right to stop playing. You don't know if maybe the goalie would have stopped the shot if the whistle hadn't blown.
Has ALL the ball crossed over ALL the goal-line before the whistle blows? Period ends?
Crease infraction by the attacking team? And three more possible scenarios on page
42 of the ncaa rulebook....
If the answer is yes, then GOAL.
