Hey girls. I have no clue where to post this question so hopefully it's okay in this board!

Do any of you ever practice in pants instead of shorts? I have these awesome Adidas sport pants that I wear for rowing, running and at the gym - they breath well, are comfy, etc.

BUT I've been told by some other players that they're not supposed to wear pants for practices. Is there a reason for this? Or do you think it's just the coach's choice?

If not, are there any certain shorts (brand, style, etc) you recommend? I don't really like the little short-shorts because they kinda ride up and aren't really comfy when running, etc.

TIA!

(Sorry this is sooo long!!)

my coaches have never told me not to wear pants. but i find pants really hard to run in. if its cold, i prefer to just wear under armour cold gear leggings under my shorts. and i usually wear mesh shorts ..like long ones from colleges or white-hole ones that i think are very cute.

fall night pratices can get farking cold...we have to wear pants sometimes just because hte weather demands it....also try wearing a winter jacket over your chest protector if yo uare goaltending..and that touque thing jose theodore was wearing at the outdoor game vs edmonton (yes, i am canadian)...been there, done that

that being said, i've never had a coach object to girls wearing pants for pratices

just the sort of immature remark i knew would show up.

keep it on topic or leave.

I usually practice in underarmor when its cold, but sometimes when its unbarable i wear sweat pants just for the heck of staying warm.

lol unless your coach is a perv, he's not gonna make you guys wear shorts instead of pants. now my coach.. who made us wear cheer bloomers instead of spandex shorts was a pervvvvvv! i prefer shorts... i like the under armor ones. the consise shorts. one time me and my friend ran around the track in just our sports bras and cheer bloomers just to piss off our coach. it was funny. he was like LADIES! GO GET ON CLOTHES! and we were LA LA LA!! HERE WE COME BOYS!

like a bathing suit bottom. and we have seperate coaches too for boys and girls, but we practice on the field next to theres. and when we run on the track, it passes their practice field. see i LOVE girl coaches, they understand stuff a lot more. like when you burst out crying during the middle of practice after a bad break out... not.. that i've done that before..... but they also understand why you wanna run around the boys praactice field!!! i wish i had a female coach like you latinbabe. i envy you!

you know why guys coach girls lacrosse a good portion of the time.. b/c they are the same as the girls coach in "SCARY MOVIE 1". you remember "her"?
My coach is also my biology teacher.. which kinda sucks.. but atleast she understands what is going on.. like you said.

Well, as we ALL KNOW, my personal favorite gear to practice in for ANY sport is UA (Under Armour). Aside from how cool looking UA is, it also performs very well (and I have practiced in some HOT weather), and I find that the material is great for lacrosse because it does not restrict you in any way. Here are some reccomendations:

Women's Under Armour Loose Gear Concise Shorts (http://www.underarmour.com/ua2/ua_women/women_detail.asp?dept_id=102&pf_id=1388&mscssid=) (I play in these and have two pairs. I am planning on getting two or three more!)

Women's Under Armour Captivate Short (http://www.underarmour.com/ua2/ua_women/women_detail.asp?dept_id=102&pf_id=1370&mscssid=) (This one has a longer inseam if you like long shorts)
