heres the head -------
hers mesh one ______
heres mesh 2 _______

like could i take 2 pieces of hard white mesh and lay htem on top of each otehr then string htem on my stick legaly....then lace the shooters threw both pieces of mesh...i'm not sure why i want to do this it just struck me as an idea and i was wondering if it was legal....i have no idea what it woudl do or any thing i was just curious if i could...well thanks for your help

it would probably be legal, but i think it wouldnt do anything except make stringing more difficult and add weight

the weight wouldnt be a problem. a piece of mesh isnt toooo heavy. shouldnt make any difference in a game situation.

i say try it out and post back with some observations.

i was thinking about it and if u used like soft mesh it might add a lil more durrability to it...idk i dont even know what made me think about it lol it was ona my random thoughts

ask laxref in the rules forum, he knows all and sees all so be wary

I can't find anything in the NCAA rulebook that specifically prohibits stringing a double layer of mesh, and I don't see any kind of unfair advantage to it, as long as it passes the free dislodgement of the ball tests.

From a practical standpoint, I think it would be very difficult to break in well, since only only the inner layer would make contact w/ the ball. You might get around this by breaking in the two separate mesh pieces separately and then stringing them one over the other after they've been throroughly broken-in & shaped.

Oh, I thought of a potential legal issue. The ball might be more prone to getting caught in the back of head when you clamp down on the ball. Two layers of mesh would probably create tighter hold on the back side.

I guess I'm at the point where I'm tired of answering questions about whether various crazy stringing configurations are legal. It's all in the rulebook if you look hard enough. I'll still answer serious questions, but chances are that spending the time people are spending trying to think up and string crazy configurations is better spent, say, throwing a ball against a wall or running. I don't think there's any magic stringing set-up that can compensate for a lack of other components of the game.

Maybe RYU can handle these questions since he (or she) seems to be doing a good job.

(BTW, if the ball sticks in the back of the head, the stick is not deemed illegal; it's just awarded to the opponent if it happens.)

Its he. He just coaches a womens team.
Anyways, why would you ever do that? I'm guessing it's legel, the only rule I can think of that would directly apply is the one that states you can only have one color on each side of the mesh.

well with two peices of mesh you could string the top half of the head with one peice of mesh and make it a high pocket.. and then string the rest of the stick with the other peice and make it a low pocket

voila you have a high pocket that you can cradle vertically with

You don't get it. He doesn't mean that, he means like stack two pieces of mesh on top of eachother and string it up. You can't make two different pockets in a stick.

i'm not strining it i was just curious about it i think it'd be retarted to waste an extra peice of mesh it just struck me as an odd idea that would be cool to try somtime...i dont htink i'd ever want to my monster mesh works just fine i dont need a magic mesh combo thing
