im a bit lazy to check, so i was wondering just yalls opinions.
one of my friends showed up to practice with monster mesh in her head. i know mesh is illegal but she had "trimmed" the mesh to the shape of her head and it was quite tight fitting. The pocket depth is the same depth as traditional would be but is far grippier and many of us on the team were quite taken on the way it performed while cradling and giving fakes.
would this by anychance be legal? cause if so, im off to texlax.

it's probably illegal because it would place you at an unfair advantage.

well... what about custom pockets then... arent they also an unfair advantage? its the same thing, using ingenuity to beat the competition; im just wondering over the fact that it is mesh.. my coach hasnt a clue what to say!

no, if the pockets match the specificities of the rules, you're not at any unfair advantage. i don't think mesh matches the specifities of the rules...

yeah, but the reason mesh was made illegal was to keep people from using pockets right? im not positive so dont flame at me for that plz. but if it doesnt have a pocket and has the same fit as traditional, i cant see why its illegal past the fact that it is still...mesh...ever so low maintenance... jeez.

I've never see any girls/women with mesh pockets before? I assume that it is illegal and I'll look it up too.

thnx for the fact warrior.. we ALL know that! now stop post padding dimwit!
Since mesh generally forms pockets naturally, since its a rectangular cut... it was made illegal, but since the mesh was cut specifically to the head, there is no pocket past what you get from a traditional stringing.
i was wondering that with this set-up would it kinda cut a loop hole in the rules and let mesh be made legal, when strung like this.

Ellen is right. In women's lacrosse you cannot use a mesh pocket. I tried to put ribbon in my pocket once and the ref said to take it out. I dont know if the rules have changed since I was six but I know now with the Trakker pockets and custom pockets that the "7 leather rule" does not seem to exist anymore. ANYWAY, only leather/nylon can be used.
