Slovakia is looking to enter the 2006 World Lacrosse Championships in London, Ontario. We are currently looking for lacrosse players with Slovakian descent in America who play or have played either division I, II, or III (or high school) and would like to represent our country. If you are Slovakian or know anybody with a Slovakian background and would like to participate at the World games then please email me at hajekm@canisius.edu. Thanks.

Would you be interested in sending a team to Halifax in 2007 for the ILF World Indoor Championships?

I personally don't know but I will pose that question to Ed Kostolansky, the unoffical North American representative for Slovakian lacrosse players.

It would be great if Slovakia could be represented at the 07 World Indoor. Let me know if there is interest and I will find out some info from the Halifax organizing committee.

You should only need one grand parent that was born in Slovakia to qualify to play for the team, Or at least that is the requirement to play in all the other International teams.

So you only have to have a grand parent from that country? Interesting... With 2 Scottish grand parents I guess that means I'm eligible for Team Scotland

Yeah but there is a Madrid Lacrosse Club in Spain and they are starting to recruit guys and girls to play lax so hopefulley they can get a league started and a national team will not be to far away.

Slovenia has two teams...Ljubljana Dragons, and the Slovene Police Academy
We won't be going to the World Champs this time ...but watch out next one !

We've had around 250 players here from all over Europe this year, for a number of tournies !
We've been on National TV and press a few times this year !

Any Slovene players in USA or Canada should contact me !!

Best wishes
Steve

Team Slovakia has been recently accepted into the 2006 World Field Lacrosse Championships and placed in the Yellow Division. We are still seeking lacrosse players with Slovakian descent in America or Canada who would like to represent our country. Good luck to all our competitors and see you in London. hajekm@canisius.edu
