Have any of yall ever played with a guys head before?

Im curious as to whether yall like pockets or not b/c i hear from some refs at a recent stx sponsored tournament that a girls version of the guys hype is coming in the near future. this would give us a legal pocket for once.

personnaly i like pockets and am looking forward to trying one out!

what do you mean by "this would give us a legal pocket for once"? ..i don't see how a men's stick is going to be legal in a game, if we still have the rules about the depth of our pockets (or, lack of it).

a girl version.... has to top down stringing so there is an actual pocket, yet not as deep as a guys so to be legal. basically, a pocket slightly deeper than our sidewalls. not just the half centimeter we have now.

think about it, a pocket that starts from the upper member of the sidewall, and drops to that slight amount below the lower member. the ball slides in and is still level with the top..thus legal.

actaully if you get a stick w/ a drop sidewall. umm tempest or response. not like the apex. that gives you the deepest pocket. especialy strung w/ a trakker pro

true.. as of this moment. But i want to see this girls hype in person, sounds pretty sweet.

i am still slowly getting used to no pockets since i played guys lax up until HS

i don't know that i would want a pocket like that. i think it's cool when people ask how we catch with having like NO pocket. it takes skills just to be able to catch, & i like that.

yeah, but it would make the game so much better, atleast for the people USED to pockets (aka ME..i learned on a guys stick, and my first girls stick is the relatively new surge)

yeah, i guess it must be weird for you. but still. i like how the girls game takes solid skills.

yeah i understand that... but i mean, if it gives you the edge over the competition in an already tight game...a good number of girls are gonna want one.

personnaly i think that pockets arnt much easier, yes it is easier to hold when you get checked, but shotspeed and accuracy also decrease making the game much closer. just a personnal thing i guess.

yeah. a bigger pocket might actually attract more new players because it wouldn't be as difficult to learn to catch. i think the flat pocket really discourages a lot of people.

just run around the board and offer my opinions, and help to everyone...funny..i lost track around 100 and stopped paying attention.

yeah, my team has had a few girls start this semester and are already history; they just never got the hang of it.

I cant awnser the poll because I like both girls pockets, for the reasons that LaxStar stated, but I think guys pockets are fun to play with. They allow you to do crazy stunts in a scrimmage or using a mini stick you cant do normally. I would rather play without them in women's lax though.

yeah i hear you summer, but you have to admit. it will open a new realm of girl lax, and girls lax players; hopefully for the best.
