Just curious? Cuz my school team has some shorter longpole guys and some heavier attackers with nice stick-skills.
I was just wondering.
I'll be playing middie this year at 5'7" 140lbs. I have a decent build, pretty much in shape.
Just leme know cuz I wanna compare the majority to some of the guys on my squad.
Thanks.

there really is no average but in geneeral I'd say defenders are the biggest, then midfield, then attack. But it verys, typically (dont get mad if you play attack), but attackmen are usually the least in shape players followed by defenders then midfielders. Just because midfield has to be fast and defense has to be able to keep up with who ever they play against. But it is differant for every position for every team, I was considering moving to attack (coach asked me 2) because the lack of size and skill on the offensive side of the ball. Im one of the bigger kids on the team and am easily have the 2nd best stick skills maybe the best on the team. Any size person can play any position it all depends on what your strengths are and what you like.

well in actuality, everyone at all positions should be in top shape. the best defensmen arent always the large guys. a friend of mine is my size (5'10" 155 lb.) and he made all state last year. attackmen r generally the smaller ones in size. very solid with muscle, but toned rather then bulked, and sprinters. ud be surprised to know that the attackmen have to have almost as much stamina as an averave middie. defensmen of course need size, but need to be fast, so theyre the bigger guys, but have to be able to keep up with the attackman thats trying to get by. the middies r pretty much everything in between.

im 6'0". 150 lbs, I play attack. But then you see the small kids out there playing attack too. So there's no real average.

It doesn't really matter, as long as the person is in shape. I'm a man mountain. I played college football and then was in a wheelchair for 8 months or so when I blew out both of my knees. I'm 6'1" and about 280 or so. I play attack, defense, and goalie when the urge hits me. I can run around for 3 or so games in a day, score 10 goals or so, and still have energy to go out for pizza.

Any size guy can play any position. We've had some huge (bulk) and tall guys playing attack. Being huge has an advantage becaus you can move guys out of the way (like shaq backing in to the net) and you can hit back on ground balls. Taller players on attack have an advantage because d-men crouch down (good defensive position) and a tall player can shoot over them. Also, by being taller they usually have a larger stride length and are faster.
Also, attack need to be quick in terms of changing direction. Middies need speed. Defense need to communicate and think.
Those are just the basics, but a good player can change his game and use his advantages as his strengths. Our small attack are fast but they get shoved around alot more than our larger ones. It's all about playing to your advantages.
