From Pauley the Don to Tony Montana what is your favorite gangster movie. It's so hard to choose Scarface was the first gangster movie I saw so I want to say that but they are all so good. Except Godfather 3 that was not good at all.

I forgot to add casino but i was too lazy to change the poll. Bronx Tale is such a good movie I can see that so many times and never get bored of it.

Westside story? Gangs of NY?

you gotta be kidding...

Why not just throw Goonies out there as well?

Seriously though, outside of the classics (most of which I haven't seen) I like Suicide Kings, Made, and Unusual Suspects (which is more about crime in general as opposed to organized crime).

everyone DOES know that gangs of new york were about irish gangs as opposed to the mafia, right?

Knockaround Guys was real good, wouldn't consider it my favorite though. I'm Irish too and Gangs of New York was crap you can barely consider it a gangster movie. But o well if u liked it that's good for you.

To all you other Irish laxers out there St. Patricks Day is coming....O YEA!!!!!!

No.

LatinBabe
02-19-2004, 06:25 PM
well its a group of "thugs" working together to steal stuff...doesnt that fit the definition of a gang?

ScottyFlex
02-19-2004, 06:25 PM
I can't believe Carlitos Way hasn't been mentioned yet. That was another great gangster movie. And no, I don't think the Italian Job counts...

LatinBabe
02-19-2004, 06:28 PM
its the no killing thing right? its a gang..thus they should be listed..may not fit the TYPE of gangs yall want (the killing kind)...but they are still a gang!

ScottyFlex
02-19-2004, 06:40 PM
You could also consider any group of people a 'gang', but there is a big difference between 'gang' and 'gangster'. And yes, gangsters kill people, its part of the job.

LatinBabe
02-19-2004, 06:47 PM
well, there is also the bad guy and his posse who try to kill...is he a gangster? and if so, it is a gang movie!

Nah, its not a ganster movie. For it to be a ganster movie they have to be like a mob, funnel illegal money and do crap like that. Think sterotypical! :)

LatinBabe
02-19-2004, 07:10 PM
but they set-up heists, crack safes, funnel stolen gold, weild non-streetlegal minis, and they have that yugoslavian guy who kinda weirds you out. not to mention cracks the traffic light codes

ScottyFlex

I just thought of Boondock Saints and when I came back I was glad some one mentioned it. It is probably in my top 3 movies of all time and I own it so I'm surprised I didn't think of it. Im absolutely in love with that movie, there coming out with the sequal All Saints Day.

As for Italian Job, definately not a gangster movie. Why? All I hafta say is markie mark and seth green come on now. That is more of a heist movie neway, a hiest movie and gangster movie are not the same.
