aiight so right now i have a torque, everying is straight out GREAT but the only thing that pisses me off is the sidewall flares. it been messin up my catching cuz the ball keeps hitting it and bouncing out. my catching percentage went wayyy down. so i was wondering if the answer would be a good choice since its just like a torque but without those sidewall flares?
or if its really ME thats the problem with catching, does the razers outward sidewalls really help catching? cuz right now i just need help on catching, but still keep a nice pinched head for hold and accuracy. thanks
i havent tried a razer or an answer so im asking for some opinions on each one. thanks. and i did do searches, but none of really explained about the catching, cuz thats all i need

If you don't like the flared sidewalls of the Torque, then you will hate the Razer. Both are flared heads. I have both the Torque and the Razer and while I have no problems with the Torque, I did end up pinching my Razer to eliminate the extreme flair. I posted pictures of my Razer at:

The answer to your problem could be a simple matter of creative pinching and you would save yourself the money, especially since you like your Torque. So my advice would be to pinch out some of the flair. Hope that this helps and good luck.

The answer has good pinchand thus giving it hold. It also has good accuracy and catch (if you're dead on ball). The problem is that mine warped in about 4 months of purchase, making me have to pinch it out anyways.

the best thing i could say is to play more wall ball and get used to it or if things dont work out that way, i would say pinch it like Formerlaxdemon. Good luck with your prob.

I would suggest getting a second gen answer, they're wider than the first gen so if you're having problems catching it should be fine.

a torque is definatly not that flared, and if you are having troubblt catching with it, maybe spend the money on some lax balls and go play wall ball for a few hours. a new head isnt gonna help you catch better.

yeahh i know. my catching is still good, the ball only comes out on cuts for some reason.i have like a 1/3 chance of catching balls on a fly. and i do play wallball ALL THE TIME. and im usually not the type of person that blames my stick for my reasons, cuz i practice all the time.
and yeah i've been catching towards the top of my head, and thats where the flares are at (the part where you put shooting strings), it just bounces off there sometimes.
can pocket placement be a factor of this? because my pocket is low, near the end of the head. if i put my pocket higher, like closer to the scoop where my catches are usually at, would that help?
thanks for the replies, i might be pickin up an answer

i'm a big officianoto about high pockets. i find that it is easier to catch with a high pocket. but for everyone it'l be different. i'v named my pockets the " drifter pocket " because the ball can roll around alot. meaning that when i go into a vertical cradel the ball will sit kinda below the ball stop, and when i go into a normal cradel it will shoot back up.

It sounds like you are a beginner and need to learn how to catch before getting an advanced head. I would suggest an the original edge and the X2 becasue they are wide heads and are easy to catch with.
