hey whats the deal with the shoulder pad liners they sel? Are you supposted to put them under your shoulder pads or wear them instead of regular shoulder pads?

Some d-men like them because they are very easy to move around in, but not protective.
It wouldn't really make much difference to put them under normal SPs.

the orginal intent is to put them under shoulder pads for extra protection. The concept stems from the Adams Foamies that were designed to go under football pads to provide some shock absobtion and prtoect against shoulder injuried caused by big hits in the NFL. but some Dmen and intrepid middies realized the range of motion offerd, and that they fulfilled the requirement, when worn alone and started to wear them. most liners are just updates on the adams concept, and every major company has them. Shamrocks one claim to fame is thier version of the liners, which seem to be a popular pad amonst d and mids short on cash. Also the spartan cores are a souped up versionof liners. for the most part liners are thin, with no bicep pad, and very little back protection. companies are starting to reenforce the sternum area of liners, due to the deaths of players.

My mistake. From what I'd read on TLF, I assumed they were most often used alone.

hmmm I play attack and i wear liners... I guess i just never saw any reason for pads that were as big as hockey shoulder pads.

yeh, I play attack, and wear the shoulder pad liners. They arent too protective, but they give a huge range of motion.

I dont wear shoulder pads, just liners. As long as you arent a 12 year old girl, you should be ok taking checks. Just try and make sure they cover the main part of your chest. I use the Gait Flares, theyr fine. I can barely tell im wearing them, but they offer fine protection.

I wear the Gait intrepid pads, which are pretty much liners with caps and arm pads. They're incredibly flexible, but some kids still take the arm pads off.

I wear the glad sp liners and I love those things. I never get hurt from checks w/ or w/o sp's on, but I wear they most protected arm gaurds out there.

i play attack and i just have liners, and i dont wear armgaurds, yea i'm a retard.
