well im started practices for my freshmen team, and no goalie. so im volunteering to do it. stick wise. im looking at one of those cheap GoalMasters oon ebay. and just put that on like my spare STX ultra+ti. is this a good set up.
and does a goalie length shaft really make a difference?
cause it should only cost me around 40 bucks at the most.
gonna get some 20d jimalax hard.

It's all a matter a preference with the size shaft, i cut 2-3 inches off a goalie shaft. The goalmaster is a good head for a beginner, do you no if your going to play goalie after this season or no.

no no, i'll probably only have to do back up or something. but ill probably do back up for the next four years. Sticking to midfield. And do you know if the jimalax kit comes with instructions? ive never strung a goalie stick before.

I dont know if it comes with it, never ordered jimalax. But you can always bring it up to the local lax store and they'd probably do it.

I'm no goalie, but if you're planning on backing for 4 years, pretty much every goalie will tell you that you can't go wrong with an STX eclipse. But then again the goalmaster does have good reviews. The jimalax mesh kits do not come with instructions.

Goalmaster on an Ultra TI is a decent goalie stick, a good stick for a backup. If your serious about goalie consider the Eclipse on something like a Kryptolyte or a DB803.

well the eclipse costs to much, and right now its looking at around 39-40 bucks for a Goalmaster safari unstrung and buying some Jimalax 20d.
but if what you said is true about 12d then i might look at that idk, ill just look at peoples opinions and stuff. it seems to be divided half and half, people using 20d compared to 12d.

jimalax kits don't come with instructions and i would def. reccommend 12d. i use an attack shaft and it's great for me so it's all about preference. a goalmaster should b good, i used a nemesis for my 1st head and i still use it now, but from wut i hear a goalmaster is fine for a beginner. like other ppl have said, there are many tutorials on the internet.

Who is using 20D? I would be willing to bet very few are. You are much safer going with regular hard mesh or 12 diamond, not 20D.
I swear by 20D in my sticks.

well today i just bought my friends olld old old goalmaster/aluminum combo. its the Goal master 1, so its not capable with new shafts. and so im just gonna use the mesh and cut the shaft down 4 inches so it can be used with regular heads.
so Brand new Goalmaster strung with soft mesh on a 36 inch aluminum shaft. total cost around. 25 bucks
