View Full Version : Support Your Local Scene
.... whatever it may be.
Personally, I've really gotten into local D.C. hip hop lately. I started at a protest where I met some guys who took a break from their respective groups/labels and made a mixtape with a lot of anti-bush songs. I think they were out of ATL. So after paying Free.99 for a cd that was better than Late Registration I thought "Hey... I wonder what else is out there....."

Is what im on right now
A guy who graduated is trying to get his whole "record label" thing going. ITs a joke, but I still battle rap all of them. Fun stuff.
DC has a pretty strong Ska scene too. But that was a while ago.
Anyone else support their local scene? How did you get into it? What are you into? Etc. Throw up some links, everyone loves exposure.

Not much of a local hip-hop scene.....and if some people start to its usually wannabe gansta rappers.....not much content/talent
We do have a sweet hip-hop night type of thing though.....One Be Lo stops by about once a month or so

st. louis has an unreal rap scene. the battle raps, even by city kids at my school are unbelievable.
Local Utah music sucks, really. We have like, The Used, and they suck AND hate Utah, and I hate them. I was making fun of them today. Anyway, here's some local shops and other random stuff I support:
Surface Snow & Skate (www.surfaceusa.com)
Graywhale Music Exchange (www.graywhalecdexchange.com)
Airblaster (www.myairblaster.com, not local, but super independent and based out of Lake Tahoe/Portland)
Rome Snowboards (www.romesnowboards.com) because they're based out of my home state, Vermont and are independent as well. A bunch of guys quit major shred companies like Burton (also from Vermont but they SUCK!) and made a kickin' company.
