i'm looking to buy a girl's stick for my sisters birthday. she plays defense. i need it to be relativley cheap. she has a t92 so it needs to be better than that

debeer apex. i think they have gone down a pretty fair amount since the tempest & impulse have come out. you could go for one of those, too, but they would be more money.

or you could buy her a warrior jett...i have yet to see one break. not very common and highly under-rated. many d girls here use them and have no problems.

debeer response w/ trakker pro. its like 35 bucks, and it plays like the $90 debeer tempest.

i chime in wiht a brine WMX, see my review on it a couple of posts down as to why i reccommend it
to summarize:
1) it's built like a tank
2) it's relatively cheap

I dont reccomend the Brine WMX or Warrior Jett personally.
How long has she been playing is the real question?

if she is real good, and you really love your sister...buy her a stx surge. mine has been swell, but thats because i keep mine well maintained. expensive, yes; but in the long run it is more than worth it if she takes care of it.

i've heard a lottttt of complaints about the surge. :concerned

yea, like how the rubber starts peeling away after 3 months of using it.

well, its the first stick you actually have to take care of besides the stringing. i find that if you just apply a small amount of epoxy to where the polymer meets the plastic it doesnt peel anymore. but after you do that the polymer doesnt peel anymore, and it doesnt inhibit performance at all. have had mine for 6 months trouble free.

Okay, she sounds experienced enough for something other than a beginner head. Personally I would reccomend that your sister get a DeBeer Apex.

yup. apex. its sorta cheap but not to cheap, and its advanced enough where college plyrs use it, but as do high schoolers/middle schoolers, and i would put a trakker pocket on it. not the pro pocket.

Thats the setup I use myself and it works great. The Apex is best selling women's lacrosse head of all time. Either go for traditional or Trakker stringing, as Laxbabe said, not Tpro.

why not the trakker pro?

IMO the Trakker Pro works better in an Impulse or Tempest, because of the scoop on the Apex head. If you look, for example, at the Impulse, the scoop is entirely off the plane of the head. The Trakker Pro just seems to look/work better in scoops that look like that. Just my opinion. Ellen? Whadda ya thinks?

excatly right summer, the tempest/impulse/resonpse, if you look from the side, its a compete dropped sidewall. totally horizontal to the ground. on the other hand, the apex, scoops down, so if you put in a trakker pro, you're not gonna get that much use out of it. go w/ summers way, and use the trakker. that's the best thing for it.

oooh, i gotcha. i have a trakker pro on a tempest, & i never liked the regular trakker, so i always played with a traditional pocket on my apex.
