alright I just found out that I didnt make my high school team for defense because there is so many of them so next year im looking to try a new position. I have amazing stick skills a hard shot but im not the fastest guy around im also about 6'2" 215 and fairly strong

you sound like a solid d man just work on all of your d skills over the next year and you can be a ton better than u were this year

yea you fit into the defensive standards perfectly. But if you no longer want to pursue being a defenseman then I would say attack. With attack you dont haveto be the fastest but you can get past the other dman cause you too played D so you kinda know what they're thinkin

yeah, i have to agree with everyone here, stay D. your body physique appears to fit D man qualities perfect. not to mention your stick skills. if you had to make a move, i would say have the coach put you as Defensive middi. (you didnt mention if you could hustle, but you did say your not the fastest..dont worry too much)

if D middi doesnt seem to work for yout then there are 2 spots of likely hood.
1) offensive, dont have to run as much as middis and so forth.
2) the bench, i HIGHLY recommend not taking this route.

so yeah, these my imput.

yea like always LatinBabe has a solid point. You could play LSM (long stick middie) and insted of running around liek crazy you could work at the top of the box and you'd haveto run less to go back and play D

yes, dont wish to embarrass you or anything... but what did the coach not like about your performance... i read what you said about there being so many people, but there needs to be a reason why they got the spot and you didnt.

this potential "problem" may actually be your key into another position. hey we all have our faults, just find your best way to capitolize on them.

sure.... jk man. upperclass men will always get picked over a frosh. stay on d. every kid wants to play attack and score, stay on d. do the drity work. you get more respect and you get more playing time

but yeah, if your a fish then that is to be expected. coaches always take the bigger more experienced people.

well, you catch my drift right?

i dont recall whether your on the team, or just not defense.

if you are not on the team, there is an easy way to get on it. Become their servant, go to the practice and tell the coach that you would like to help in anyways possible because you love the sport and am willing to do chores in the chance that you may learn some more. you will end up chasing balls and so forth at the beginning, but sooner or later he will let you feed balls into drills. if you choose to do this, life will klinda suck for awhile but will show the coach true commitment, not only that, but you will have learned a huge amount just from watching and will most defiently make the team.

how i know this, two girls did it last year. they were TERRIBLE at try-outs their freshman year, but this year, their sophmore year, they are running mid-pack on the team.

This kind of sounds like me with football. I played reciever last year and didn't really like it too much cause our quarter back sucks. So next year I'm going to play corner back. I already know most of the patterns that recievers run.

Hmm...well I would say stick with defense personally. But if you really want to be on the team and cant wait a year while you work on your skills and conditioning, then maybe try being manager (you'll get to know the guys, which will come in handy when you do make the team, trust me). You would proabably rather not be on the team than sit on the bench the whole year. Its not that fun. And it really makes you question yourself, which you should never have to do. Believe in yourself instead. If they are upperclassmen, then they will be leaving soon anyway.

And it is true that MJ did not make his JV team. As far as I know in any case.
