One of my good friends has just started his own lacrosse business.. he is not a retailer or a uniform supplier, he is taking teams and groups internationally to play lacrosse and tour places in Europe and around the "lacrosse world"...
I'm wondering what you guys think... would you all ever want to travel internationally to play lax... or would you know of groups of people that would want to go...
I'm just testing the waters with this, to see how popular this thing could get..
any feedback would be great... and any questions of course..

Do you meen like setting up package deals for travel etc. like some sort of lax only travel agent??
If it can get me around to play lax on the uber cheap it's always good.

yep that's it..
essentially, he will be taking roughly 4 or so "teams" --- they don't have to be specifically one team, but he would take them to one of any "destination" to play round robbin tourneys.. - like play lax for a day or two, then do some touring for a few days.. most likely, he would be setting up some competition from the place you would be visiting..

Yeah it does sound like a good idea. I think we need more team's comming down here from the states, There are already a few tourneys that run ever year that teams from the US would be more than welcome to enter.

the cost is generally going to be moderately expensive,,, of course flights will be the most expensive part (these will vary by time of year, where you are flying to and from, etc... also, you will need a place to stay, which can be quite cheap depending on where you want to go.. also, you will have to pay for food, etc...
not sure exactly how much it would cost, but I can give you an example of a trip I recently took...
London: flight 650, hotel, 350, food 200+, beer 100+, train, subway,etc... this was for a week-long trip.. around 1600.00... << this is only for example of course..

he basically charges a fee for arranging everything.. he is providing the service of arranging flights, hotels, transportation, fields, etc... kinda like a travel agency..

I am guessing that you have to be at least 15 or 16; these trips would obviously have adult supervision, etc.. The players travelling would most likely belong to a whole team, and tryouts would only be necessary as the team sees fit.

there is some sticker shock involved, but it's very comparable to any european trip you might take. Much of the cost of the trip will most likely be cut by fundraising, etc.

My team might be interested. Our sponsors, and some quality fundraising might be able to defray most of the costs as well.
What level would the competition be in an open age group? All of our players have college experience, and the vast majority are former D-1 guys. Would we be able to show up hungover and still compete? Hahahaha.

it really all depends.. right now, I think his main focus is on the High School level, but I'm sure he would entertain the idea..

I play for a new club. Right now we're the "University of Baltimore Lacrosse Club," but we're joining the ALL for next season, so we're changing our name. The vast majority of the team go to law school with me, and are 4 year NCAA players, including myself.
I'm in charge of getting us sponsors. Right now we have one bar, but no one that's willing to shell out the loot to buy us uniforms, so we don't have a club name yet. If you have any ideas for sponsors in the area, I'd love some input. If you do know anyone, tell em we're undefeated this season.

Personally I think that is a wonderful idea wheelax. Even though I am only an 8th grader, (what do i know), but if I was older I would definitely go on it. What makes it even better is that you can play for a day or two and then tour the place you go play. I would recommend Australia as one of them, and maybe another in Germany. Well I am not the travel agent so I cant make this go, but---
Good Luck with this I hope it goes well.
