okay, so i ordered my tempest & it came with a triax shaft. how do you fit a different shaft (a harrow or a klyte) into the same head? we tried getting a proflex into an apex that came with a triax, and it was really loose. i'm assuming i will run into the same problem. is there a way to fix this?

wrap the end with grip tape as much as you need then slide it in. then wrap the usual amount of grip tape over the screw once you get a snug fit.

that's what i was thinking. thanks. so just poke the screw through the tape, then?

yes, thats all it will take. if you cant, just take a shiskabob skewer and poke a hole in it, then screw in the screw.

ok, there's this silver metal band that wraps around the top part of the shaft, you attach it to normal shafts like the proflex, so that it can fit into an apex which is made for thicker shafts. advantage carries them, they'll just give it to you for free actaully. that way you don't have to deal with messing around with tape, which starts to get moldy when your stick gets wet. its this thin metal shape that fits around the top of the shaft.

I dont reccomend using tape.
What Ellen is talking about is a spacer. Most women's lacrosse sticks have 'em because most girls use the mid-sized shafts that are marketed for us ladies. They're smaller in diameter so dont fit some heads which are made for full-size shafts. My apex came with a plastic spacer (Triax shaft) and it might also be specific to the Triax because of the shape of the shaft. Go to any lacrosse store near you to get one.
You might be able to fit the shaft you end up getting on it though. Try that first and if it doesnt work, go with the spacer.
