Alright, winter outdoor league starts in two weeks. I'm a freshman and I was supposed to play in the JV (Freshman+Sophmore) Division...but apparently they didn't get enough JV entries, so they're completely cancelling the JV Division, and all the Freshmen and Sophmores have to Play Up (Varsity) or Play Down (Middle School). Considering I'm attempting to make the Varsity team at my school, I'll definitely be playing up, though it should be ridiculously challenging.
Anyway, I've been training since the beginning of summer...tons of shooting and wall ball, lifting 4-5 times a week, sprinting 3-4 times a week. Basically I feel like I could be doing more, and since I will be playing with guys who generally outclass me and are more athletic than I am, I'm trying to work as hard and as much as I can before I start playing.
Can someone suggest a 2 week crash-training course for me to prepare? I'm talking lifting, running routines (mainly explosion and speed), shooting/stick skill drills, etc.

P.S. Would it be beneficial or superfluous to do pushups every night?

Yea rest, don't over do yourself right before it starts or you won't feel like playing much. No such things as a "crash training" course. Just be confident that what you have been doing will work out. I'd say push-ups every other night. Run every other day, and start matinence lifting, nothing too crazy just enough to stay where you are at though. They may be older, bigger, and better, but so what, just do it up.

id say pushups every other night, or once every 3, depending on how youre feeling, but it wont help in the short run.

go very easy 3 days before you start because you want your body to relax and not overstrain

this year for bball i strained a muscle in my leg because i went a little to hard on the weights but a some ice on it for 48 hours did the trick

ya don't start anything crazy 2 weeks ahead of time, you would be suprised how many guys probably did nothing the entire off season, so just go do your thing. Hustle like a mad man, be personable with your coach and remember regardless of the older guys they can't measure heart so find the biggest kid on your team put your shoulder in the middle of his chest and lay him out. Let the guys know your planning on moving up the depth chart.
