Here's some big matchups next week and my picks, just cuz I gotta talk about lax somewhere, my friends are sick of hearing it.

#5 Maryland @ #6 Georgetown
Big game for both these squads. Opener for both. Maryland's D is solid but can they score some points?
Pick: Hoyas

#19 UMBC @ #9 Duke
Let's go Danowski, prove me picking you correct. Duke has lost some in terms of transfers but still has enough to win.
Pick: Blue Devils

#13 Loyola @ #11 Towson
Having to face 9 of 13 opponents currently ranked in the top 25 this season, the Greyhounds are going to have to hit the ground running. In a slugfest...
Pick: Greyhounds

#8 UNC @ #7 Umass
Can UMass really be this good? I'll say no, Tarheels' D steps up.
Pick: Tarheels

Quinnipiac @ #4 Princeton
The big question: Has Tierney fully reloaded his Tigers? We won't know yet, no test from the Q's.
Pick: Tigers

These are just some games picked at random based on matchups. Virginia and Hopkins will have no trouble in their respective matchups against Air Force and Penn.

#5 Maryland @ #6 Georgetown
Pick: Maryland by 2
Low scoring game as i see big D and no real explosive forces on offense...

#19 UMBC @ #9 Duke
Pick: Duke by 4
UMBC is a decent team...but short on talent compared to Duke...

#13 Loyola @ #11 Towson
Pick: Towson by 3
Should be a close game, but Towson just has too much firepower IMHO

#8 UNC @ #7 Umass
Pick: Tarheels by 1
UNC is going to be great this year...this first game will be tough but good...

Quinnipiac @ #4 Princeton
Pick: Tigers by 6
Princweton shouldnt be #4...they will drop...they'll win this game, but it will ba a first look at a team in question this year
