dont flame me, just a quick question. An attack head has to be between 6.5 and 10in in width at the largest point. Does that mean at least 6.5 on the face, the actual open area, or 6.5 total, including the fractions of inches taken up by the sidewalls? LaxRef, please help me out on this one

Inside measurement. But if you alter your stick, it's illegal.

I don't think if someone squeezes their head that it would be called altering, and it would be difficult to even tell what might have been intentional and what happened during use. Back when "baking" heads was popular I would see sticks with a prominent crease in the middle of the top, which was a dead giveaway that I wanted to check that stick. Almost always they would be tossed fro being too narrow, but I'd never throw one just because I thought he had squeezed it.
As the other reply said, why push the envelope? Make sure you're legal on the inside measurement and don't risk a 3 min NR. The extra 1/4" won't score enough goals to offset those that your team will give up!
