Protecting your stick in lacrosse is like trying not to get wet in a pool full of water.

keep your stick close to your body and well, its not that hard, just when their is a Dman by you put your stick in a spot that he cant reach/check your stick.

make sure you keep your body between you and your defender. if you keep that in mind you should do fairly well. Never hang your stick and always make sure the least amount of your stick is showing

just use a mirror for practice.. try to hide your stick so that you can not see your stick anywhere behind your body...
and, yes going one handed is great for stick protection..

this is a cheap move(i learned it at camp). if you are running through a group of people quickly press the head of your stick against your body, only do this for a second or you will get called. But it is a great way to get past a bunch of people at once

At Top Gun, Mike Leveille told me, along with some other campers, that he does the same when dodging near the crease - the hot zone. Then quite a few campers were doing it during the games.

You can put the head of the stick near your helmet so if they hit your stick and helmet they get a penalty.
