I want to get everyone's opinion on this:
In my indoor game i was knocked down and i still had the ball in my stick, while cradeling while lying on my stomach i start to get up and someone checks my stick out of my hands. The ball rolls a few feet away and while attempting to pick up my stick the ball rolls underneath me again after a failed attemp to scoop it by the other team. i get a few sticks around me trying to get the ball and I'm having difficulty picking up my stick, when i finally do pick my stick up i get called for playing without a stick. I never actually touched the ball, but i did unintentionally obstruct others from getting the ball, but after the ball rolled away and I'm in the process of picking up my stick before the ball rolls back to me. Bad Call or not?

Correct call. You unintentionally participated in the play without your stick.

i agree in a situation like that, it is rather annoying to be called for that, but the ref's and rulemakers have to draw the line somewhere.

Not unless they participate in the play after they drop the stick and before they get it back. In any case, it's not a penalty if the ball is loose, since it's a technical foul. It's only a penalty if you do it while the other team has possession.

so therotically if player a yardsales players b's stick and the ball goes into the air and player a catches it with his awesome stick skills before player b picks up his stick, player b would get a technical foul? again therotically and highly unlikely but possible

Only if he somehow impedes player A or tries to participate in the play instead of immediately sub or retrieve his stick. Intentionaly trying to interfere with said player in order to get a call would most likely result in a USC or atleast a very harsh warning and change of posession.

We have a bunch of football players on our team, and early in one of their first games, a kid lost his stick, and just ran and tackled the guy with the ball 0_o

So what's wrong with that? how else is he going to stop him?

he could ask him to stop-at least he wouldn't be breaking the rules

As long as he asks politely, I don't know why the other guy wouldn't comply.
