We are trying to set up our spring schedule. Does anyone know will the new boundries we need to put on the girls field enable us to use it for boys jv games? I'm not real familiar with the markings that are needed.

Maximum playing area for girls is 140x70, minimum is 110x60. If your girls team doesn't mind playing on the minimum allowed sized field for women's lacrosse, there's no reason not to use the same field and markings. In fact, that's what my team is doing this year. The same markings deliminating boundaries can be used. The goals need to be 90 yards apart for girls where as for guys it's 80 yards. The restraining line can be extended to the sidelines for the girls 30 yard line, and of course you'll have to paint in the center circle and the 8m & 12m arcs. Use different colored paint for the girls lines to make things much easier on your players and officials.

CT has it right.
One additional note, if you play two back to back games boys then girls, plan on needing some paint between games for the field. Many times the boys goal circle is in the middle of the girls lines and the 8m arc gets worn out during a boys game.

Actually, for NFHS lacrosse, the field must be 110 yards long by 53 1/3 to 60 yards wide. Thus, if you make the boys field the maximum you would meet the girls minimum, but if you're playing on a football field you might not be able to make it wide enough.

the question was about a boys JV game. i don't think anyone is going to get their buns in a knot if its not spot on to the rulebook. Just see that the interior markings, the crease to restraining line and crease to end line are correct...thats what counts, IMHO.
