Dont worry about what they tell you
www.bodybuilding.com, go to teens section, go to forums and read, or go to the search bar at the top and type in sports or something like that, and find what you need.

He wasn't asking what supplements to take, he was asking what supplements we take. I personally take whey protein which costs just under 30 bucks per 5 pound container on bodybuilding.com. It helps rebuild your muscles after lifting plus many other things. I also take a daily multi-vitamin. I have been reading up about creatine for a while and am seriously considering buying some and trying it out.

I just take Creatine.
One spoonfull after a workout, or one in the morning on a non-lifting day.
I just use the GNC monohydrate stuff... it works quite well.
I justify my use of creatine because I don't eat any red meat, and that is where creatine occurs in nature. So I use the supplement to augment my intake of it. Good stuff.

what exactly does creatine and glutamine do ?

Creatine fills your muscles with water mass allowing you to lift more. The moment you stop taking it, the effects wear off. Glutamine helps repair your muscles after a long and hard workout/practice. Correct me if I am wrong.

If you are using whey you dont need to take glutamine considering whey has plenty in itself.

Oh, man. Don't bother with the xyience. I have never taken a supplement that was a waste of money until I took the Xyience Nox-CG3. The stuff is garbage. The ultimate fighter guys get PAID to use it. It's grainy and gets stuck in your teeth.
And its more creatine than NO2 anyway. Just get some NO2 and phosphagen creatuine - that stuff dissolves completely. Xyience = complete waste of money (way too expensive for what you get and its not even top notch.)

Ya when I came out of HS I was getting recruited for football also, and I had a visit to one school with the coach. He showed me around campus and the whole 9 yards, then took me down to the training room where they had creatine stacked up by the case. To make a long story short this coach basically said (in a nice way), all his players are REQUIRED to take creatine during workouts. Now this was about 5yrs ago, but still :WTF:

Where did you hear that? From what I've heard its impossible to ban creatine not only because its naturally occuring in meat (about 1 gram per pound of beef and more in fish I believe) but because there isn't a way to test for it. And if I'm wrong about the testing part it doesn't matter because if they did test everyone but vegetarians would test positive. Oh and sorry for quoting you.

I take whey protien, L-glutmine, CLA, Thermo-gain, and a multi vitamine.
And no creatine is not banned, if it was that would be like saying, ok lets take out your liver and a couple other organs that produce it in the body.
I dont know what peoples beef is with creatine, its natural, its not bad for you, IT WORKS, and its inexpensive. Its not a cheat suppliment. It doesnt mess with hormones or anything like that. Its a verry popular body building supplament that i am seriosly thinking about taking once i hit a plateu.

no offense to anyone here who takes it, but the people around here who take creatine and steroids are all little girls who dont want to go lift because they're lazy. They think it will just magically make their arms bigger with no work.

I know creatine is only found in small amounts, and whats wrong with me saying "just plain stupid"? Would you rather me say There is utterly no point in doing so, or that is really incomprehensible? Steroids are a completely different matter, that is like describing an apple while talking about an orange; exactly it doesn't make any sense. It wouldn't be "a war of wits", it would be pure opinion, and even if you were to "win" wow good job you out spoke a fifteen year old, not something to be proud of.

all you need is a good diet with plenty of protien. You dont need any supplements, they are just an easy way out.

Marflax, and laxpro, you are wrong. It is not "the easy way out" if you say that you truly don't know what you are talking about. It is not a steroid, and should never be even compared with a steroid. While taking creatine you have to work hard, harder than either of you do on any given day. And marflax who wants there arms to be bigger? Wow no comment. Do either of you even know what creatine does? Well in short what I am trying to say is read up. Sorry for the harshness but it had to be said.

Nah,, not an easy way out. I guess if your goal is simply to become stronger than people you know for bragging rights, than yea, they are an easy way out. But as far as body building and power lifting goes, its a major part, it enables you to see how strong you can get, how far you can push yourself. You set importance on getting stronger and stronger, or looking better. Rather than having importance on being able to outlift someone.
and as far as steroids go, ok they work. realy well, realy realy well. Not advized to take them because of all the screwed up side effects, which arent realy knoticable until after long periods of use. But even with steroids you still have to lift. Not quite as much, but you still do. If you dont know how they work, it basicaly tells your body to keep growing. Like when you lift, your body tells it to grow and strengthen to be ready for the next time you lift. With steroids, when your body tells your muscle to grow, it will give it a much higher dosage of hormones so your muscles grow faster, repair faster, and strengthen faster so you get used to the weight..faster. mabe after even 1 workout.

yeah diesel is right , lets say i work out HARD and lets say in a 2 months i gain 5 pounds of muslce and i get like 15 pounds stronger in everything , with creatine i may be able to gain 7 pounds , and get 20 pounds stronger , it doeasnt magicllly make you bigger but it helps if you put in the hard work

there is only one way to build real muscle.HARD WORK. creatine fills your muscles full of water, and while you look, feel, and work like you have accually lifted weights for more than two hours a day, as soon as you stop you shrink, if you want to be if you want to be tom cruise tough take creatine, but nothing beats real muscle if you want to be jean claude van dame tough. then the only way is the hard way. whey protien however works excellent. no enhancers are nessesary ive done the creatine thing many times and wished i had worked out. for football i put on thirty pounds with it and it worked righteously, but heres lacrosse season. and ive had to work out hard to earn it all back. the only way to go is by bad assing it, and working out. or take horse steriods.

I've just started taking some creatine and I shot up like 10 pounds in a week in a half. I forgot to take some protein though so when I got a cold I lost it all in like a couple days. Most of it was water weight, but that's alright I guess.
I just took some monocreatine from GNC which i don't suggest taking because it doesn't mix well at all with any juices or drink. So everytime I take it, my drink is all grainy and I have to continually re-shake it. Even though the taste kinda sucks I suggest a full drink mix. Ideally I just picked mine out for the best value b/c you get the most servings (100 servings x 5g) for the least price (around $20).
You can quickly feel the effects though. My weight shot up quickly and I was much less sore after working out. Monday I was sick and Tuesday I squatted, but I forgot to take it and today (Thursday) I'm still feeling sore. Although I didn't see as much of an energy 'boost' as I expected though.

Try using a weight gainer along with lifting. That might help you gain weight but also muscles.

wrwarrior, most of the immediate weight is water, stick with take it everyday wile you are on it, or else it won't stay in your system, it gives me a great pump, and has helped me a lot. Good luck, stick with it.
All of you that say all it does is add water weight you are wrong. All of you that say you "deflate" you are also wrong. You just simply loose the water weight, but yuo keep the muscle yuo have gained from your increased strength.
I drink protein shakes, take a sports multivitamin twice a day, and I pop 2 fish oil pills a day.
Oh yeah, and steroids of course.

any thing that offers an easy alternative to becoming stronger is probably not good for you. if you want to beef up wieght lifting does help. if your already skinny then you wont loose any more then youre excess, but you will gain more muscle ...definatly take protien...i recommend whey chocolate flavor..it seems the least disgusting

The amount of misinformation in this thread is astounding. The very basic description of what creatine does is this (as far as I understand), the energy that your muscles use is created by a breaking one phosphate atom off ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) and turning it in to ADP (Adenosine Diphosphate) supplimenting your diet with creatine supposedly makes it easier for your body to convert the ADP back to ATP inorder to be used again.
