hi, im new to the whole lax scene and would like to get some advice at what to practice and what to start doing. im not to big but not small either 5'7 140lbs im not sure what postion i would like to play but am interested on joinin the sport this upcoming spring. unfortunatly, my highschool makes cuts so i have to be better then the rest. could anyone tell me how much training i should do as to improve my edurance, like runnin and if so how many miles a day/week and what parts of my body should i build muscle in. and also, what i should do to improve my stick skills. i can already catch the ball decently and can kinda pass but what drills i should do to practice im not so sure. plz be gentle and patient in giving me advice and thanx in advance

i would play wallball as much as possible and develop your offhand too. playing good with both hands really impresses coaches

Check out the Instruction and training forums.
When looking for the getting in shape area, Rix, Cburylax, and Shiftylax all are extremely competent in their advice...
As far as practicing, many of us can help, but check out the instructional stuff first.

yeah, i would say check out the training forums, but i wouldnt worry bout distance training, i run about 2 miles distance a week, but sprints are very important, change of direction is very very very important, especially fr those who are either throwing dodges, or trying to slide on defence so try doing alot of suicides and short sprints
